Introduction: Although amiodarone is traditionally used in the treatment of postoperative junctional ectopic tachycardia (JET), the search for new treatments is ongoing. We present our experience with ivabradine at two medical centers.
Materials And Methods: Between January 2022 and January 2023, patients who developed JET after pediatric cardiac surgery were prospectively followed up and documented.
Aim: This study aims to evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of children diagnosed with sinus node dysfunction.
Methods: This was a retrospective review of patients diagnosed with sinus node dysfunction in two tertiary paediatric cardiology centres in Turkey from January 2011 to June 2022.
Results: In all, 77 patients (50, 64.
Background: Conventional liver magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) requires breath-holding (BH) to avoid motion artifacts, which is challenging for children. While radial free-breathing (FB)-MRE is an alternative for quantifying liver stiffness (LS), previous methods had limitations of long scan times, acquiring two slices in 5 minutes, and not resolving motion during reconstruction.
Purpose: To reduce FB-MRE scan time to 4 minutes for four slices and to investigate the impact of self-gated (SG) motion compensation on FB-MRE LS quantification in terms of agreement, intrasession repeatability, and technical quality compared to conventional BH-MRE.
Advances in cancer therapeutics have improved patient survival rates. However, cancer survivors may suffer from adverse events either at the time of therapy or later in life. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) represent a clinically important, but mechanistically understudied complication, which interfere with the continuation of best-possible care, induce life-threatening risks, and/or lead to long-term morbidity.

Alterations in ventricular activation due to abnormal depolarization may cause repolarization abnormalities on the ECG, even if myocardial conduction returns to normal. These repolarization changes are defined as TWM.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant mental health challenges, particularly for vulnerable populations, including non-binary gender individuals. The COMET international study aimed to investigate specific risk factors for clinical depression or distress during the pandemic, also in these special populations.
Methods: Chi-square tests were used for initial screening to select only those variables which would show an initial significance.
Despite the advancements in technology, establishing the optimal implantation technique for pediatric patients with a pacemaker (PM) indication remains challenging. Although the implantation of an epicardial PM is recommended, especially in children weighing less than 10 kg, transventricular placement of endocardial leads can be performed safely, offering a practical substitute for an epicardial pacing system, particularly in situations where a transvenous approach is unfeasible due to patient size, anatomical constraints or epicardial PM leads were not available as in our case.

This work aimed to develop and evaluate automated abdominal SAT/VAT segmentation on longitudinal MRI in adults with overweight/obesity using attention-based competitive dense (ACD) 3D U-Net and 3D nnU-Net with full field-of-view volumetric multi-contrast inputs.
Materials And Methods: 920 adults with overweight/obesity were scanned twice at multiple 3 T MRI scanners and institutions.

Background: The prevalence of medical illnesses is high among patients with psychiatric disorders. The current study aimed to investigate multi-comorbidity in patients with psychiatric disorders in comparison to the general population. Secondary aims were to investigate factors associated with metabolic syndrome and treatment appropriateness of mental disorders.

Method: We systematically reviewed the double-blinded, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing drugs or placebo for acute manic episodes of bipolar disorder in children and adolescents using PRISMA guidelines.
Background: Mental health-related stigma occurs among the public and professionals alike. The lived experience of mental illness has been linked to less stigmatising attitudes. However, data on psychiatrists and the relationship between stigmatising attitudes and psychotherapeutic activity or case discussion groups remains scarce.

Secondly, the moderator effect of PLEs on group differences in rs-FC was examined. Thirdly, brain correlates of inflammation response during acute SARS-CoV-2 infection were investigated.

Background: Intracoronary sinus ablations have been performed for various arrhythmical substrates. The aim of this study is to report our experience on pediatric patients of the safety and efficacy of ablations in the coronary sinus.
Methods: This is a retrospective study of all patients who underwent ablations in the coronary sinus from October 2013 to October 2021 at a single center.
Background: We aimed to share our experience of intra-atrial reentrant tachycardia mapping and ablation with a new grid-style multielectrode high-density mapping catheter (Advisor™ HD Grid) in pediatric and young adult patients with operated congenital heart disease.
Methods: All patients with operated congenital heart disease and intra-atrial reentrant tachycardia mapping with the new grid-style catheter between October 2019 and December 2022 were included (group 1), and the results were compared to those patients who operated with conventional catheter methods before this period (group 2). All procedures were performed using the EnSite Precision 3D mapping system (Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Ill, USA) with a limited fluoroscopy approach.
In this research, a multi-step microfluidic reactor was used to fabricate chitosan - superparamagnetic iron oxide composite nanoparticles (Ch - SPIONs), where composite formation using chitosan was aimed to provide antibacterial property and nanoparticle stability for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Monodispersed Ch - SPIONs had an average particle size of 8.8 ± 1.

The patient was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia in another centre, and multi-drug therapy was unsuccessful to restore sinus ryhthm, so he was sent to our hospital for catheter ablation. We stopped the medications the patient was taking and started using ivabradine.

Despite remarkable improvement achieved by maintenance programs, an array of treatment goals were still unmet. Mounting evidence suggests that transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) improves decision making and cognitive functions in addictive disorders.

Methods: We evaluated 108 patients diagnosed with isolated complete atrioventricular block.
Twelve-lead ECG of a child with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and systolic dysfunction was consistent with the anteroseptal accessory pathway. The earliest atrial activation during electrophysiological study was found between the right anteroseptal region near the HIS. Multiple femoral tract right-sided cryotest lesions followed by radiofrequency catheter irrigated through the jugular vein route were unsuccessful.

Methods: This work developed an uncertainty-aware physics-driven deep learning network (UP-Net) to (1) suppress radial streaking artifacts because of undersampling after self-gating, (2) calculate accurate quantitative maps, and (3) provide pixel-wise uncertainty maps. UP-Net incorporated a phase augmentation strategy, generative adversarial network architecture, and an MRI physics loss term based on a fat-water and R * signal model.
Introduction: Maternal body composition may influence fetal body composition.
Objective: The objective of this pilot study was to investigate the relationship between maternal and fetal body composition.
Methods: Three pregnant women cohorts were studied: healthy, gestational diabetes (GDM), and fetal growth restriction (FGR).
Purpose: Two-dimensional (2D) echo-planar radiofrequency (RF) pulses are widely used for reduced field-of-view (FOV) imaging in applications such as diffusion-weighted imaging. However, long pulse durations render the 2D RF pulses sensitive to off-resonance effects, causing local signal losses in reduced-FOV images. This work aims to achieve off-resonance robustness for 2D RF pulses via a sheared trajectory design.
