The aim of this retrospective analysis was to compare the toxicity and oncological outcome of IORT or simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) with conventional external beam radiotherapy (WBI) after breast conserving surgery (BCS).
Methods: Between 2009 and 2019, patients were treated with a single dose of 20 Gy IORT with 50 kV photons, followed by WBI 50 Gy in 25 or 40.

The benzotriazinyl radicals are non-luminescent but surprisingly the corresponding styryl radical trapping products exhibit high fluorescence quantum yields (up to 60% in some cases), making them highly valuable probes or labels. Additionally, the influence of the substitution pattern on the optical properties of the radical trapping products was observed experimentally and interpreted by means of quantum chemical calculations.

The synthesis, magnetic characterization, and three crystal structures of the solid radical ion salts (R-DMAT-n)X with various counterions X and alkyl chain lengths n are reported. Magnetic susceptibility and absolute EPR signal intensity measurements show singlet-triplet transitions in a number of cases, which is discussed in relation to the crystal structures.

Inclusion criteria, demographic information, and interrater agreement statistics are described. The Human Experience Variable (HEV; Perry & Viglione, 1991) provided information about interpersonal perceptions not previously available within the Comprehensive System (CS; Exner, 1993). Research data suggests that it was related to interpersonal functioning and as a result, psychological impairment and health. In this article, we present the rationale and empirical basis for recent psychometric refinements to the HEV, consequently renamed the Human Representational Variable (HRV).

Background: Primary hypertensives who are acutely exposed to hypoxic hypoxia show an enhanced reactivity of arterial chemoreceptors as well as an exaggerated response of the sympathetic nervous system. Since these phenomena could influence their ability to tolerate sustained hypoxic hypoxia, this study was performed to determine whether persons predisposed to hypertension have a normal tolerance of simulated high altitude.
Methods: Subjects were 18 young men with a family history of hypertension (sons of hypertensives, SOHT) whose BP values were in the upper normal or borderline hypertensive range.

Some concern about recently published nonpatient data, plus the fact that some records in the published sample of 600 nonpatients (Exner, 2001) were collected more than 20 years ago, prompted the initiation of a project to develop a new nonpatient sample. In this article, findings are presented for the first 175 participants tested in the new project. It is noted that the data from the new project are quite similar to those for the sample of 600.
