Background: The triglyceride/glucose index (TyG) reflects insulin resistance and predicts the risk of acute ischemic stroke (aIS). However, it is uncertain if this index predicts the severity and outcome of aIS because studies that addressed this question are few and all were performed in Asian subjects. Intranodal palisaded myofibroblastoma (IPM) is a rare, benign mesenchymal neoplasm of the lymph nodes with a broad differential diagnosis. We report a case of an 82-year-old woman presenting with a slow growing, right inguinal mass. The tumor arose as a circumscribed neoplasm inside a lymph node and consisted of bland spindle cells with nuclear palisading and intervening areas of amianthoid-like fibers among interstitial hemorrhage and hemosiderin-laden histiocytes in the stroma, typical histomorphological characteristics of IPM.

Cancer is a leading cause of death in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. With the advent of antiretroviral treatment, the risk of AIDS-defining cancers declined but the ageing of this population resulted in the emergence of other common cancers, particularly lung and hepatocellular cancer. Accordingly, screening programs similar to the general population should be implemented in patients with HIV infection.
