The article presents analysis of the system of organization of primary medical sanitary care in the Russian Federation, its strong and weak aspects are emphasized. The main indices of out-patient care of population and their dynamics are considered. The necessity of system development is substantiated with the purpose of supporting accessibility and quality of medical care in out-patient conditions.

The article contains data on preliminary evaluation of the efficacy of secondary prevention of arterial hypertension among industrial workers of "Avto ZIL" amalgamation. Population studies to reveal major cardiovascular diseases show a certain increase of arterial hypertension and other disease morbidity accompanied by temporary disability. A considerable positive effect is observed in groups of hypertensives undergoing regular and effective anti-hypertension preventive treatment.

In experiments on (CBA X C57B1)F1 mice a study was made of the radioprotective efficiency of some hypotensive drugs. Hemiton administered in different ways, within a wide dose range and at different times before irradiation was shown to possess a pronounced protective action. The substitution of the acid residue in hemiton decreased its activity.

[Algorithm for calculating socioeconomic loss in relation to premature mortality].

Biull Vsesoiuznogo Kardiol Nauchn Tsentra AMN SSSR

February 1985

Methods for assessing the social and economic losses due to premature death are considered. The calculation algorithm of such an assessment including economic and demographic aspects has been devised. The calculation methods are illustrated by the results of carrying out the arterial hypertension preventive programs at one of the Moscow large enterprises.

Interaction of bonive serum albumin with copolymers 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine, acrylic and methacrylic acids in different proportions in aqueous solutions was studied. It was shown, that in a wide range of ration of the components soluble cooperative complexes were formed. Ability of amphotheric copolymers to form complexes with bovine serum albumin depend both on the composition of the copolymers and on the pH of the medium.

It has been shown by high-velocity sedimentation that BSA forms soluble complexes with polyacrylic acid (PAA) and sodium polystyrene sulfonate (PSSNa) with neutral water solutions. Factors responsible for polyanion binding of similarly charged BSA molecules are analysed. It has been found that occupation of PAA and PSSNa chains with BSA globules proceeds steadily.

Interaction of bovine serum albumin (BSA) with quaternized poly-4-vinyl pyridine (PE) in aqueous solutions at pH 7 was studied. It was shown that in a wide range of the ratios of the components (nBSA/nPE) soluble stable cooperative complexes were formed. At the same time a certain critical content of the protein exists at which the system loses its homogeneity.

We investigated the effect of polyacrilic acid (PAA) on the immune response in mice of various strains on sheep red blood cells and also the influence of poly-2-methyl-5-vinyl-pyridine (PMVY), PAA and their statistical copolymers on antibody-forming cells (AFC) production in cultures of T- and B-lymphocytes in vivo. PAA was seen to increase accumulation of AFC in the spleen of mice depending on their genotypes. PMVP and PAA were found to intensify the cooperating interaction of T- and B-lymphocytes, whereas their copolymers exert quite an opposite effect.

The influence of poly-4-vinylpiridine (P-4-VP) on the production of antibody forming cells (AFC) has been studied. P-4-VP induces helper activity in lymphoid organs of B-mice. P-4-VP injected into mice substitutes T cell function in the development of immunological memory.

The effect of poly-4-vinylpyridine and polyacrilic acid on production of antibodyforming cells to the sheep red blood cells in in vivo mixed cultures of T- and B-lymphocytes involved an obvious increase of the immune response. To a lesser extent theimmune response was increased in B-lymphocyte cultures, and no such effect was observed in T-lymphocyte cultures. The poly-4-vinlpyridine and polyacrilic acid were concluded to enhance cooperation between T- and B-lymphocytes and, probably, to replacethe T-lymphocytes function in B-mice.
