Premature ovarian insufficiency and ovarian aging are complex conditions that affect women's reproductive health and overall well-being. They are both characterized by hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and infertility, and together affect about 1 in 100 women by the age of 40. This review explores the influence of environmental factors on the development and progression of premature ovarian insufficiency and ovarian aging.

Purpose: To investigate and compare the causes of macrosomia and FGR fetuses, their ultrasound characteristics and the importance of their similar metabolic profile in intrauterine and extrauterine life.

Materials And Methods: We searched Pubmed/Google Scholar database up until 15 December 2020 using keywords. Out of the 70 matching results we selected 50 most representative and matching papers.

Aim: To identify differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in 1 trimester maternal plasma between pregnant women at risk for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and uncomplicated controls.

Materials And Methods: First-trimester plasma from five women who developed GDM and five from non-diabetic ones were analyzed using isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation - labeled proteomics. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was further applied in an independent cohort of 25 GDM cases and 25 controls for verification.

Problem: To study the balance of circulating heat shock protein (HSP)60 and HSP70 in pre-term delivery.

Method Of Study: A two-stage approach was used. At first stage, we run retrospective analysis of prospective collected clinical data, and at a second stage, we studied an animal model of pre-term delivery (PTD).

Background: The Combined Multimarker Screening and Randomized Patient Treatment with Aspirin for Evidence-Based Preeclampsia Prevention trial demonstrated that in women who were at high risk for preterm preeclampsia with delivery at <37 weeks' gestation identified by screening by means of an algorithm that combines maternal factors and biomarkers at 11-13 weeks' gestation, aspirin administration from 11 to 14 until 36 weeks' gestation was associated with a significant reduction in the incidence of preterm preeclampsia (odds ratio 0.38; 95% confidence interval, 0.20 to 0.

Purpose: Delineate whereas ADAM-12 levels at first trimester of pregnancy may be used as a marker for hypertension-preeclampsia (PE) and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).

Materials And Methods: The present is a case control study. Serum ADAM-12 of women presenting for routine assessment of risk for chromosomal abnormalities at 11+0 to 13+6 weeks of gestation was measured.

Introduction: It is widely supported that multicentric disease of the breast (MCDB) is a contraindication of breast conservative surgery (BCS).

Materials And Methods: This is a multicentric study (two breast cancer units from Greece, one from France) involving patients with at least two primary tumors in separate quadrants of the breast and no diffuse suspicious microcalcifications on mammography. Sixty-one patients were included in the study, but 49 were followed up to the end.

Current knowledge on the participation of angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) in the inflammatory process and on the importance of bacterial endotoxins (LPS) in the induction of preterm delivery (PTD) led us to investigate the role of Ang-2/LPS interplay in the pathogenesis of PTD. At a first stage, Ang-2 was measured at the end of the first trimester of pregnancy in the serum of 50 women who delivered prematurely; of 88 women well-matched for age and parity who delivered full-term; and of 20 non-pregnant healthy women. Ang-2 was greater in pregnant than in non-pregnant women.

Objective: Investigate changes in the cellular component of maternal immune system in a murine preterm delivery (PTD) model.

Methods: C57BL/6 J mice were mated and on day 14.5 after plugging either whole blood was harvested or Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was intraperitoneally injected.

Purpose: Although endometriosis is a benign disorder, recent studies suggest that endometriosis could be viewed as a neoplastic process. The objective of this study is to explore the epidemiology of synchronous neoplasms (SPN) in women with severe endometriosis.

Patients & Methods: The prevalence of SPN in cases with endometriotic ovarian cysts that underwent surgery at "Lito" Maternity Hospital of Athens and at Anticancer Institute of Bucharest was investigated.

Introduction: Endometriosis is a quite common condition in women of reproductive age. The purpose of this study is to delineate the association between hemoperitoneum and endometriosis.

Materials & Methods: The records of all patients with endometriotic ovarian cysts treated at the 3rd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Athens and at "Lito" Maternity Hospital of Athens from 2000 through 2007 were reviewed.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to delineate the association between endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and the prevalence of this coexistence.

Materials & Methods: The records of all patients with endometriotic ovarian cysts treated at the 3rd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Athens and in "Lito" Maternity Hospital of Athens from 2000 through 2007 were reviewed.

Results: During this 7-year period 720 women underwent surgery due to endometriotic ovarian cysts.

Background: Radioactive iodine has been used effectively in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases. Since radiation is delivered to the whole body, including the ovaries, there is reasonable concern as to whether there is a possibility of mutagenic effect on germ cells.

Case Report: A 33-year-old woman with a differentiated papillary carcinoma.
