Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the potential link between allergies, specifically tree pollen sensitization, and mood changes in patients with recurrent mood disorders.
  • Researchers hypothesized that patients sensitized to tree pollen would experience greater mood declines during spring pollen exposure compared to those who are not sensitized.
  • Preliminary findings revealed no direct mood changes related to tree pollen sensitization, but a positive correlation was found between worsening allergy symptoms and increased depression scores, supporting the idea of a "state" relationship between allergies and mood changes.
