Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), are associated with higher thrombotic risk and enhanced thrombin generation (TG) in adults. Despite encouraging data reporting vaccine safety and low IBD flare rates in adults with IBD, vaccine hesitancy was demonstrated to be high in families of children with IBD. We aimed to find out whether TG is increased in children with IBD as compared to healthy controls and whether TG parameters show significant changes following SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination.

In the TRANS-IBD clinical trial, the outcomes are measured with selected validated questionnaires. Cross-cultural and age adaptations of the Self-Efficacy Scale for adolescents and young adults (IBD-SES), the Transition Readiness Assessment Questionnaire (TRAQ), and the Self-Management and Transition Readiness Questionnaire (STARx) were performed. According to the Porto criteria, upper endoscopy and ileocolonoscopy with histology for patients with pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (pIBD) are recommended with small bowel imaging (SBI). We aimed to evaluate the adherence to the Porto criteria and biopsy sampling practice and to evaluate the diagnostic yield of magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) first time in a nationwide pIBD inception cohort. Objectives: To provide valuable local data on the economic burden of rotavirus gastroenteritis (RVGE) for decision making on introduction of rotavirus vaccination in Central European countries.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective patient hospital chart review during the winter RVGE peak in the Czech Republic (n = 109), Hungary (n = 109), Poland, (n = 112), and Slovakia (n = 115) to estimate resource use and associated costs from the payer's perspective in children younger than 5 years with severe RVGE requiring hospitalization. Microcosting analysis was used to estimate the average costs of treating RVGE inpatients including pre- and posthospitalization costs.

The multifunctional, protein cross-linking transglutaminase 2 (TG2) is the main autoantigen in celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder with defined etiology.
