SignificanceWhile increasing evidence associates the disruption of circadian rhythms with pathologic conditions, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD), the involved mechanisms are still poorly described. Here, we show that, in both humans and mice, the pathogenesis of NAFLD is associated with the disruption of the circadian clock combined with perturbations of the growth hormone and sex hormone pathways. However, while this condition protects mice from the development of fibrosis and insulin resistance, it correlates with increased fibrosis in humans.

Background: Causative mutations in the GANAB gene have been described in only 14 families, 9 diagnosed with late-onset Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) and 5 with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Liver Disease (ADPLD).

Background: Cervical dilation and changes in cervical dilation inform the management of labor, including decisions to admit a patient to the hospital, augment labor, or perform a cesarean delivery. Practitioners routinely measure cervical dilation subjectively using 2 fingers on manual examination; however, agreement of ≤1 cm between 2 observers has been reported as 60% to 91% previously in laboring women.
