Highly anisotropic thermal conductivity of discotic nematic liquid crystalline films with homeotropic alignment.

Discotic nematic liquid crystal (DNLC) films are prepared by thermal treatment and a photo-crosslinking reaction inside sandwiched glass plates. The DNLC films exhibit outstanding in-plane thermal conductivity which is much larger than cross-plane thermal conductivity. The homeotropic alignment and higher crosslinking density of DNLCs in the films further increase the thermal conductivity anisotropy.

We report a rare case of multilocular thymic cyst with follicular lymphoid hyperplasia in a 59-year-old female. Chest CT and MRI revealed a large multilocular cystic mass, which contains thick septa and nodules in the thymus.

Epithelioid trophoblastic tumor (ETT) is a rare neoplasm derived from chorionic-type intermediate trophoblastic cells. Most cases of ETT are intrauterine and present during reproductive age. We report a case of ovarian ETT developing 47 yr after the patient's last pregnancy.

EZH2 expression in invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast.

Background: Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is the second most common histologic type of breast cancer, but the prognosis of ILC is still controversial. Colonic adenocarcinoma arising from gastric heterotopia: a case study.

Heterotopic gastric mucosa occurs in all areas of the gastrointestinal tract including the nasopharynx, tongue, esophagus, small intestine, colon, and rectum. Gastric heterotopia of the large bowel is infrequent, and most cases have been reported in the rectum. Review of the literature has revealed only eight cases involving the colon proximal to the rectum.

A 62-year-old man with a chronic cough presented with atelectasis of the left upper lobe on chest X-ray. Chest computed tomography showed an atelectasis in the left upper lobe with bronchial wall thickening, stenosis, dilatation, and mucoid impaction. We performed bronchoscopy and found a well-circumscribed mass on the left upper lobe bronchus.
