We aimed to compare the association of depression with aspects of quality of life (QoL) among older people users of primary health care (PHC) living in Brazil and Portugal.We carried out an observational, cross-sectional and comparative study with a quantitative approach in the PHC scope in Brazil and Portugal, where we obtained a nonrandom sample of 150 participants aged 65 years or older (100 Brazilians and 50 Portuguese). We used the socioeconomic and health data questionnaire, the Medical Outcomes Short-Form Health Survey QoL (SF-36) questionnaire and the Beck Inventory.

Background: Venous ulcers constitute an important public health problem as they can cause disability with consequences for multiple dimensions of quality of life.
Objective: To describe the quality of life in patients with venous leg ulcer treated in primary care in two cities from Brazil and Portugal.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional comparative study with a non-probabilistic sample of 171 patients with venous leg ulcers who were treated in primary care in two cities from Brazil and Portugal, namely, Natal and Évora.
In general terms, health is influenced and generated by the interaction of biological, social, economic, political and cultural factors. From this standpoint, the scope of this paper was to analyze the relationship between working in emergency care units of public hospitals and the health/sickness of the professionals who work in them. It involved a quantitative and qualitative survey, in which 240 health professionals (doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, dentists, nutritionists, audiologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists) filled out a questionnaire.

Method: Longitudinal study, conducted with 63 chronic kidney patients, evaluated before and after kidney transplant, using the quality of life scale proposed by the World Health Organization.
Results: We observed significant improvement in the physical aspects of QOL after kidney transplantation.

Method: cross-sectional study with a sample of 204 patients with chronic venous disease. The quality of life was assessed with the help of the SF-36 questionnaire.
The literature indicates a lack of available tools in Portuguese for detecting violence against the elderly. It thus seems appropriate to provide Portuguese-language versions of tools originating from other cultures. The Vulnerability to Abuse Screening Scale (VASS) contains 12 items that identify the risk of violence against the elderly.

Objective: Assessment of resilience and the self-reported treatment adhesion behaviors of patients with SLE, investigating which of these factors are associated to resilience.
Method: Cross-sectional study of 40 women with SLE.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the capacity of resilience, self-esteem and social support among the elderly by means of an exploratory study. The convenience sample consisted of elderly users of the public healthcare network in Natal-RN, Brazil, who answered the questionnaire and the Resilience, Self-Esteem and Social Support Scales. Participants were 65 seniors, with a mean age of 71 years, 81% female, with poor socio-economic conditions.

A hundred and fifty-three questionnaires, applied in two hospitals (a state hospital and a charity hospital) in the metropolitan area of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, were analyzed. Methods/results: Show some points about the relationships above the chirurgeon, health team and patient and presents some psychological and psychopathologic answers to the patient under the trinomial illness-hospitalization-care in the period a long the diagnosis and chirurgical indication at the rehabilitation proceedings.
Conclusion: Psicologist must conquist, by knowledge and dedication, his space in surgical teams.
