A new cystidicolid nematode from Mullus surmuletus (Perciformes: Mullidae) from the western Mediterranean.

Ascarophis valentina n. sp. is described from Mullus surmuletus off the Valencian coast of Spain on the basis of both light and scanning electron microscopy.
