- An 8-year-old boy with hemoglobinopathy M developed two large cerebral abscesses in the right temporal and left frontal lobes, leading to fever, vomiting, and prolonged sleepiness, diagnosed as viral encephalitis.
- Conservative treatment was unsuccessful, necessitating surgical excision of both abscesses along with drainage of the cavities.
