Introduction: The education of military medical providers typically relies on assessments with established passing parameters to help ensure individuals are equipped to care for those in harm's way. Evaluations of medical knowledge are often provided by governing bodies and are supported by strong validity evidence. In contrast, assessing an individual's leadership skills presents a challenge, as tools with robust validity evidence for leadership evaluation are not yet as widely available as clinical assessment tools.

In this study we investigated whether the accuracy of intraset repetitions in reserve (RIR) predictions changes over time. Nine trained men completed three bench press training sessions per week for 6 weeks (following a 1-week familiarization). The final set of each session was performed until momentary muscular failure, with participants verbally indicating their perceived 4RIR and 1RIR.

The feed additive Availa-ZMC was investigated for the ability to reduce lameness in broilers using 2 alternative models for inducing lameness. The mixture of organic trace minerals was effective in reducing lameness by 20% in the wire flooring model and 25% in the litter flooring model with the bacterial challenge. Lameness in both models is overwhelmingly attributable to bacterial chondronecrosis with osteomyelitis.
