Background: Circadian rhythm sleep disorders are a presentation of sleep disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). This study aims to compare this problem in MS patients with healthy people and to determine its association with chronic fatigue in MS patients.
Materials And Methods: A case-control study was performed on 120 MS patients and 60 healthy subjects matched for age and sex, in 2009 in MS Clinic Alzahra Hospital.
Aim: To assess possible relationships of knowledge and related factors with educational level and osteoporosis-related life habits.
Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted on 268 women (≥ 35 years old) from June 2011 to August 2011. The sample collection was done in outpatient clinics in three university hospitals in Isfahan, Iran.
Background: The efficacy of mitoxantrone induction therapy in rapidly worsening multiple sclerosis (MS) is well established. Plasma exchange is also applied as an adjuvant in exacerbations of relapsing MS. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of combination therapy with mitoxantrone and plasma exchange versus mitoxantrone alone in patients with aggressive MS.

Materials And Methods: This randomized trial study was conducted from October 2008 to March 2009 in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at University Hospital. Forty-eight patients with confirmed cubital tunnel syndrome were randomized in two groups, and each patient received one of two different surgical treatment methods, either ASCT (n = 24) or ASMT (n = 24).
Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of central nerves system, in which neurological disabilities occur in young adults. Despite increasing number of studies on MS, some aspects of this disorder are still unclear. In the previous studies, it has been proven that there is direct relation between MS incidence and vitamin D deficiency.

Methodology: This case review study includes 18 patients with NEO (males: 11 (61.
Introduction: In recent years, outcome assessment related to orthopedic surgeries has increasingly focused on patient-reported questionnaires. The Oxford Hip Score (OHS), self-administered questionnaire, is a reliable, valid, and responsive instrument for assessing hip in patients undergoing Arthroplasty.
Methods: The study involved 105 adult Persian-speaking patients admitted for primary Total Hip Arthroplasty in two hospitals in Isfahan in Iran from September 2009 until April 2011.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of an eight-week progressive resistance training and vibration program on strength and ambulatory function in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients.
Methods: Twenty-Four female MS patients with the following demographics: age 27-45 years, and expanded disability status scale (EDSS) 2-4, participated in this study. The subjects were randomly allocated to one of two groups.
Background: Fatigue is one of the common complaints of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, and its treatment is relatively unclear. Ginseng is one of the herbal medicines possessing antifatigue properties, and its administration in MS for such a purpose has been scarcely evaluated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ginseng in the treatment of fatigue and the quality of life of MS patients.

Methods: In this prospective study, 50 new female case of multiple sclerosis were enrolled. Age, urodynamic findings, micturition complaints and number of plaques on MRI were recorded on admission.
The aims of this study were to suggest the rate of primary progressive (PP) subtype of pediatric onset multiple sclerosis (MS) in Isfahan, Iran, and describe its clinical and paraclinical features. The data of patients were retrieved from Isfahan MS Society (IMSS) database from April 2003 to August 2011. Among 3,843 MS patients of Isfahan who have been registered in IMSS, 260 patients had onset symptom when younger than the age of 18 years, of whom, 11 patients had a PP course (4.

In this study, we evaluated the preventive effects of vitamin D3 administration on the conversion of ON to MS (primary outcome) and on the MRI lesions (secondary outcome) of ON patients with low serum 25 (OH) D levels. Thirty ON patients (15 in each of 2 groups, aged 20-40 years) with serum 25 (OH) D levels of less than 30 ng/ml were enrolled in a double blind, randomized, parallel-group trial.

Unilateral damage to STN, which can commonly occur due to the small vessel stroke mainly, causes hemiballismus and sometimes hemichorea-hemiballismus. This paper deals with a 60-year-old patient with sudden onset of abnormal movements in his right limbs.

No large population-based survey has until now been carried out on the linkage of epilepsy (EP) and multiple sclerosis (MS) either in the middle-east or in Asia. In this retrospective population-based study (April 2003 to July 2010) on the total Isfahan cohort of 3,522 Iranian MS patients, we looked for EP/MS patients and compared their features with 1,665 non-EP/MS cases. We identified 105 cases, though, 24 were excluded for an implausible EP/MS link.

It primary involves liver and lung, and bone involvement is relatively rare (0.2-4%), where it is most commonly seen in the spine.

Anti-aquaporin-4 IgG (AQP4 IgG) is a highly specific and moderately sensitive biomarker for NMO. This study was designed to assess the rate of seropositivity for AQP4 IgG, and the short-term outcome of patients presenting with single isolated ON (SION).

Methods: In this retrospective study, we extracted the records of 3522 MS patients (2716 females and 806 males) registered in the Isfahan MS Society (IMSS) from 2003 to 2010. Next, we searched for LOMS cases.
Intraosseous ganglia are benign cysts that usually can be seen in lower extremity; especially around ankle. These cysts have fewer incidences in upper extremity, mainly around the wrist. They are extremely rare in olecranon.

This study evaluated patients with rapid exacerbation of multiple sclerosis (REMS) following the initiation of IFN-β.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical records of 2350 patients with multiple sclerosis who started treatment with IFN-β and were registered with Isfahan MS Society (IMSS).
Objective: We conducted a longitudinal prospective study to evaluate the long-term effect of pregnancy on the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS).
Method: Parous female MS patients were extracted from the database of Isfahan multiple sclerosis society (IMSS). Through comparing the annual relapsing rate during a mean of 4 years before pregnancy versus a mean of 6 years after delivery, MS progression influenced by the pregnancy was analyzed.
Objectives: The onset of multiple sclerosis in the majority of the cases occurs as a clinically isolated syndrome (CIS). We sought to assess serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OHD) in CIS patients and healthy controls.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study 40 patients (36 women and 4 men) with CIS manifesting as a single isolated optic neuritis and 40 Age- and sex-matched healthy controls (35 women and 5 men) were enrolled between late October 2010 and early March 2011.
