Purpose: to determine the yield of Video-Electroencephalogram (VEEG) in the first 24 h in patients with a first unprovoked seizure and normal neurological examination, laboratory findings, and cranial CT scans.
Methods: we analyzed retrospectively the yield of VEEG performed in these patients in the emergency department. All the patients were subsequently seen in the Epilepsy Clinic, and the epilepsy diagnosis was confirmed.
Introduction: It is not yet possible to estimate the proportion of patients with COVID-19 who present distinguishable classical neurological symptoms and syndromes. The objective of this study is to estimate the incidence of sensory symptoms (hypoaesthesia, paraesthesia, and hyperalgesia) in physicians who have presented the disease at Hospital Universitario Fundación Alcorcón (HUFA) in Madrid; to establish the relationship between sensory symptoms and the presence of other signs of infection; and to study their association with the severity of COVID-19.
Methods: We conducted a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective, observational study.
Unlabelled: Patients suffering from psychotic disorders have an increased morbidity compared with control population. Moreover, these patients are prone to habits such as smoking or obesity, which in fact are risk factors for developing neoplasias.
Objective: The current study is aimed to determine the prevalence of oncologic processes (lung, colon and prostate cancer) among patients diagnosed with psychotic disorders.
