Objectives: The aim of this retrospective multicenter study was to evaluate the prognostic significance of low muscle mass, and inflammatory markers in patients with stage III nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who received definitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT). Furthermore, the study aimed to determine the threshold value of disease-specific low muscle mass.
Methods: A total of 461 patients with stage III NSCLC were evaluated.
Objective: Mean lung dose (MLD) and percent of total lung (TL) volume that receive a dose greater than 20 Gy (V) have been the most validated parameters in the prediction of radiation pneumonitis (RP). However, these parameters present mean values of TL parenchyma and predict the right and the left lung as a unique functional organ unit, not take into account the difference in function and dose density between the lungs. Furthermore, there have been very limited data evaluating ipsilateral lung dosimetric constraints in addition to TL parameters to predict RP in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with radiochemotherapy (RCT).

After two reported case studies of imaging findings during daily computed tomography (CT)-based image-guided radiotherapy (RT) scans, a call for submission of anonymized case reports was published with the objective of rapidly determining if there was a correlation between the onset of new pulmonary infiltrates found during RT and COVID-19. Objectives: Prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) decreases incidence of brain metastasis and improves survival in patients with limited disease-small cell lung cancer (LD-SCLC) who achieved complete response (CR) after treatment. There is no satisfactory evidence about the necessity of new brain imaging for asymptomatic metastasis immediately prior to PCI. The present study aimed to evaluate the frequency of brain metastasis in SCLC patients without neurological symptoms who are candidates for PCI.
