Real-Life Experience with Tildrakizumab in Plaque Psoriasis with Palmoplantar Involvement: A Multi-Center Retrospective Italian Study.

Introduction: Palmoplantar psoriasis (PPp) has a profound negative impact on patients' quality of life, and it represents a therapeutic challenge, as palms and soles are difficult to treat area. Although the efficacy profile of tildrakizumab has been well evaluated in the literature, data on its use for PPp are still limited. The objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tildrakizumab on moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis with involvement of the palmoplantar area.

Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Delay of Melanoma Diagnosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Introduction: Several studies have described how the restrictive measures due to COVID-19 have delayed melanoma diagnoses, resulting in an increased rate of more severe cases. Summarizing the sparse results in this context might help to understand the real impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on melanoma. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate how the clinical and prognostic factors of new melanoma diagnoses changed after COVID-19.

Effectiveness of tildrakizumab 200 mg: an Italian multicenter study.

Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated disease that can be challenging to treat, especially in patients with severe disease or high body weight. Tildrakizumab is a monoclonal antibody which inhibits IL-23, approved for moderate-to-severe psoriasis with a standard 100 mg dose. A 200 mg dose may provide greater efficacy for patients over 90 kg or with high disease burden.

Fast Clinical Response of Bimekizumab in Nail Psoriasis: A Retrospective Multicenter 36-Week Real-Life Study.

(1) Background/Objectives: Nail psoriasis (NP) is a chronic and difficult-to-treat disease, which causes significant social stigma and impairs the patients' quality of life. Moreover, nail psoriasis is a true therapeutic challenge for clinicians. The presence of nail psoriasis can be part of a severe form of psoriasis and can have predictive value for the development of psoriatic arthritis.

Predictive value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, platelet to lymphocyte ratio, and systemic inflammatory index for detection of recurrence of pleomorphic adenoma of the major salivary glands: a multicenter study.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation among inflammatory biomarkers, such as the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and the recurrence of pleomorphic adenomas (PAs).

Study Design: This was a retrospective multicenter study. Six hundred eight patients diagnosed with PA and treated by tumor enucleation were included in the analyses.

Internal Consistency and Floor/Ceiling Effects of the Gross Motor Function Measure for Use with Children Affected by Cancer: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Children/adolescents with cancer can develop adverse effects impacting gross motor function. There is a lack of gross motor function assessment tools that have been validated for this population. The aim of this multicenter cross-sectional study was to preliminary validate the 88-item Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-88) for use in children/adolescents with cancer, exploring internal consistency and floor/ceiling effect.

Lower PrEP Retention among Young and Black Clients Accessing PrEP at a Cluster of Safety Net Clinics for Gay and Bisexual Men.

Young men of color who have sex with men are vulnerable to HIV and experience poor PrEP uptake and retention. We conducted a secondary data analysis and calculated adjusted Prevalence Odds Ratios (aPORs) for PrEP retention along with 95% CIs at 90, 180, and 360 days at an organization running safety net clinics in Texas for gay and bisexual men. We found statistically significant association with age, race, in-clinic versus telehealth appointments, and having healthcare insurance.

Long-term efficacy and safety of dose-dense and dose-intense ABVD without consolidation radiotherapy in patients with advanced Hodgkin lymphoma: A 15-year follow-up of the ABVD phase II study.

We demonstrated that dose-densified and dose-intensified ABVD (doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, dacarbazine; ABVD) was safe and effective. Here, we present a post hoc long-term analysis of the 82 patients enrolled in the original study. The median observation time was 175 months (IQR 159-197).

The Italian Consensus Conference on the role of rehabilitation for children and adolescents with leukemia, central nervous system tumors, and bone cancer, part 2: general principles for the rehabilitation treatment of motor function impairments.

In Italy, 1400 children and 800 adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every year. About 80% of them can be cured but are at high risk of experiencing severe side effects, many of which respond to rehabilitation treatment. Due to the paucity of literature on this topic, the Italian Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology organized a Consensus Conference on the role of rehabilitation of motor impairments in children/adolescents affected by leukemia, central nervous system tumors, and bone cancer to state recommendations to improve clinical practice.

Telehealth vs in-person education for enhancing self-care of ostomy patients (Self-Stoma): Protocol for a noninferiority, randomized, open-label, controlled trial.

Introduction: Postoperative patients with ostomies experience significant changes in their lives as a result of the device implantation. Self-care is important to improve their health outcomes. Telehealth provides an opportunity to expand access to self-care education.

Patient and Provider Perceptions of Barriers and Facilitators to Pre-exposure Prophylaxis Access and Adherence in Black and Latinx Young Men Who Have Sex with Men.

In the United States, the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has led to a substantial decrease in HIV prevalence and incidence. However, some populations, including young men who have sex with men (YMSM) of color, continue to be disproportionately impacted, highlighting the need for tailored interventions addressing barriers to adequate PrEP access. In collaboration with partner clinics, we recruited 19 PrEP clients and 19 PrEP providers ( = 35) to participate in hour-long in-depth interviews.

Exploring the interplay of atopic dermatitis severity with sleep and mental health: a case-control study in adult patients.

Objectives: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease often associated with non-atopic comorbidities. Recently, a severity-dependent relationship between AD and sleep/mental health diseases has been proposed. However, few studies investigated these comorbidities and their association with AD severity through validated questionnaires.

Short-, mid- and long-term efficacy of dupilumab in moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis: a real-world multicentre Italian study of 2576 patients.

Background: The efficacy and safety of dupilumab in atopic dermatitis (AD) have been defined in clinical trials but limited real-world evidence on long-term treatment outcomes is currently available to inform clinical decisions.

Objectives: To describe the long-term effectiveness and safety of dupilumab up to 48 months in patients with moderate-to-severe AD.

Methods: A multicentre, retrospective, dynamic cohort study was conducted to assess long-term effectiveness and safety of dupilumab in patients with moderate-to-severe AD in a real-world setting.

Photodynamic Therapy for the Treatment of Bowen's Disease: A Review on Efficacy, Non-Invasive Treatment Monitoring, Tolerability, and Cosmetic Outcome.

Bowen's disease represents the in situ form of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma; although it has an excellent prognosis, 3-5% of lesions progress to invasive cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, with a higher risk in immunocompromised patients. Treatment is therefore always necessary, and conventional photodynamic therapy is a first-line option. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of the clinical response, recurrence rates, safety, and cosmetic outcome of photodynamic therapy in the treatment of Bowen's disease, considering different protocols in terms of photosensitizers, light source, and combination treatments.

Three-dimensional Versus Two-dimensional Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Three-dimensional (3D) laparoscopy has several advantages in gastrointestinal surgery. This systematic review determined whether similar benefits exist for bariatric surgical procedures by systematically searching the MEDLINE, Embase, and Scopus databases. Six studies including 629 patients who underwent 2D (386) and 3D (243) laparoscopic bariatric surgeries were selected.

Reproductive toxicity assessment of cellulose nanofibers, citric acid, and branched polyethylenimine in sea urchins: Eco-design of nanostructured cellulose sponge framework (Part B).

In the framework of a safe-by-design approach, we previously assessed the eco-safety of nanostructured cellulose sponge (CNS) leachate on sea urchin reproduction. It impaired gamete quality, gamete fertilization competence, and embryo development possibly due to the leaching of chemical additives used during the CNS synthesis process. To extend this observation and identify the component(s) that contribute to CNS ecotoxicity, in the present study, we individually screened the cytotoxic effects on sea urchin Arbacia lixula and Paracentrotus lividus gametes and embryos of the three main constituents of CNS, namely cellulose nanofibers, citric acid, and branched polyethylenimine.
