Stress and psychological disorders are substantial public health concerns, necessitating innovative therapeutic strategies. This study investigated the psychophysiological benefits of nature-based soundscapes, drawing on the biophilia hypothesis. Using a randomized, acute cross-over design, 53 healthy participants experienced either a nature-based or a reference soundscape for 10 min, with a 2-min washout period.

In 2019, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) made up more than one-half of all adult cardiac surgical procedures in the United States, with an estimated 301,077 procedures performed, of which 161,816 were isolated CABG, and approximately 25% of which were performed in women. Women undergoing CABG are statistically more likely to present for surgery at an older age, with a greater burden of comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension, and in decompensated clinical states (eg, acute myocardial infarction or cardiogenic shock) versus their male counterparts. However, sex has been shown to be an independent risk factor for worse outcomes even when controlling for these differences.

Introduction: By studying the dietary habits of patients with bacterial vaginosis (BV) and the controls, we aim to find out whether the dietary intakes of phytochemicals could reduce the odds of BV. To the best of our knowledge, no study has ever examined the matter before. Therefore, we decided to conduct this secondary analysis of case-control study to examine the association between dietary phytochemicals and BV.

Background: Prenatal and postnatal depression (PND) is associated with adverse outcomes for mother, fetus, and child. The aim of study was to examine the prevalence and risk factors of prenatal and postnatal depressive symptoms.

Materials And Methods: This was a cross-sectional and hospital-based survey of 2305 pregnant women and post-partum women (18-48 years) that was registered in the Babol Pregnancy Mental Health Registry (BPMHR) database from June 2020 to March 2021.

Paternal thrombophilia and recurrent implantation failure: an exploratory case-control study.

Objective: Many pieces of literature have reported that inherited and acquired thrombophilia might be a risk factor for recurrent implantation failure (RIF), however, most studies have only focused on RIF patients and not their male partners. We studied the possible association of paternal thrombophilia with RIF risk.

Methods: Forty-two male partners aged 20-45 suffered from RIF compared with 42 males from couples with at least one successful pregnancy.

A Greater Intrinsic, but Not External, Motivation Toward Physical Activity Is Associated With a Lower Sitting Time.

Background: Both reducing sitting and increasing physical exercise promote health but exercising more does not necessarily reduce sitting time. One reason for this non-dependency may be that different aspects of exercise motivation are differently related to sitting time. Identifying the type of exercise motivation that would also be associated with sitting time can help to reduce sitting indirectly through increased exercise, thus bringing greater benefits.

Objectives: Administrative and clinical efforts to improve hospital mortality and intensive care utilization commonly focus on patient rescue, where deteriorating patients are systematically identified and intervened upon. Patient rescue is known to depend on hospital context inclusive of technologic environment, structural features, and hospital organizational behavioral features. With widespread adoption of electronic medical records, early warning score (EWS) systems, which assign points to clinical data elements, are increasingly promoted as a tool for timely patient rescue by referencing their prediction of patient deterioration.

Serum dipeptidyl peptidase-4 activity and progranulin level in polycystic ovary syndrome patients.

Background: Evidence showed that abnormal alteration of adipokines level may perform a key role in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) pathogenesis. Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) and progranulin (PGRN) are two novel adipokines related to insulin resistance (IR).
