Crude oil is made up of very complex compounds, which are found in polar organic substances especially organic acid compounds in the majority. Although organic acid content in crude oil is low, the presence of organic acids affects the interfacial tension (IFT) in oil reservoirs thereby altering the enhancement of oil recovery using nitrogen gas (N) injection. Therefore, in this study, the effects of pressure (1 to 35 bar), the percentage of aromatic compounds (0.

In this study, the production of activated carbon (AC) through the chemical activation of waste tire (WT) using HPO and KOH for H production by SCWG of oily sludge (OS) donated by Persian Gulf Star Oil Company was investigated. HPO was the best activating agent based on some pretests results, and then the synthesis of AC was optimized using Response Surface Methodology. Based on BET surface area of synthesized ACs, thirty combinations of the four variables namely; activation temperature (350-550 °C); activation time (1-4 h); HPO to WT ratio (1-3 w.

This study employed an ultrasound-assisted oxidative desulfurization process (UAOD) to investigate the degradation of three sulfurous compounds in the synthetic gas condensate. Various parameters, including oxidizers (hydrogen peroxide, sodium peroxide, potassium superoxide), promoters (formic acid, acetic acid), catalysts (phosphotungstic acid, ferrous(II) sulfate, zirconium dioxide, vanadium pentoxide, aluminum oxide γ, copper(II) oxide), and phase transfer agents (isobutanol, tetraoctylammonium bromide, and tetra--butylammonium fluoride), were examined to identify the optimal combination for reducing sulfurous compounds in the UAOD process. The influence of the extraction stage and reactor vessel material on the desulfurization efficiency was also investigated.

Tea plant necrotic ring blotch virus (TPNRBV) has emerged as a significant threat to tea plantations, primarily in China. Since 2020, similar symptoms have been observed in tea plants in northern Iran, raising concerns about the spread of this viral infection. In this study, we conducted an extensive investigation involving approximately 70 samples collected from both symptomatic and asymptomatic tea plants.

An analysis of the complete genome sequence of a novel isolate of tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) obtained from tomatoes in Iran and named ToBRFV-Ir is presented in this study. Comprehensive phylogenetic analysis utilizing key viral proteins, including 126 KDa, 183 KDa, movement protein (MP), and coat protein (CP), as well as the complete genome sequence, classified ToBRFV-Ir and 65 isolates from GenBank into three distinct clades. Notably, genetic diversity assessment revealed relatively low variability among the isolates, irrespective of their geographical or clade affiliation.

This article focuses on the HS adsorption from normal heptane (nC) as synthetic natural gas liquids (NGL) using ZnO, SiO and zeolite 13X in static mode. Results of the isotherm and kinetics of the investigated adsorbents for HS adsorption under ambient condition showed that ZnO had the highest HS adsorption capacity between 260 and 700 mgHS.g in the initial concentration range of 2500 and 7500 ppmHS with an equilibrium time of less than 30 minutes.

  • Syphilis is an important STI and public health issue in Iran, but there's a lack of accurate data on its prevalence; this study aimed to fill that gap through a systematic review and meta-analysis of existing literature.* -
  • Following PRISMA guidelines, researchers reviewed 1,229 studies and identified 15 eligible reports, finding a combined prevalence of syphilis in Iran at 0.1%, with slightly higher rates in women (0.6%) compared to men (0.4%).* -
  • The findings indicate a low prevalence of syphilis and a downward trend from 1999 to 2015, suggesting that while syphilis infection is not a major concern in Iran, the approach

Dichlorvos or 2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate (DDVP) is a chlorinated organophosphorus pesticide, which is frequently detected in agricultural wastewater. Herein, a batch reactor was used to carry out the supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) of a synthetic wastewater containing dichlorvos as a very hazardous agricultural pollutant. To do so, the impact of four operating parameters including dichlorvos concentration (100-500 ppm), oxidant coefficient (0.

Prostate cancer (PC), the fifth leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, is known as metastatic bone cancer when it spreads to the bone. Although there is still no effective treatment for advanced/metastatic PC, awareness of the molecular events that contribute to PC progression has opened up opportunities and raised hopes for the development of new treatment strategies. Androgen deprivation and androgen-receptor-targeting therapies are two gold standard treatments for metastatic PC.

It is well established that pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass is required to achieve an effective enzymatic saccharification process. At the present time, most of the touted pre-treatment technologies would cause environmental pollution and unsustainable water use for the pretreated material prior to enzymatic saccharification. To address these shortcomings, the pretreatment technology which combines the supercritical CO, SC-CO (a green solvent), acetic acid, and steam explosion was used to assess the pretreatment of wheat straw for enzymatic saccharification.
