Objective: (s): This study aims to evaluate the changes in temporal auditory processing skills in children who underwent bilateral ventilation tube insertion (VTI) due to Otitis Media with Effusion (OME) and the effect of these changes on speech comprehension in noisy environments.
Methods: This is a case-control study. In total, 60 children were included in the study in two groups.
Background: The best strategy to achieve optimal reperfusion outcomes during mechanical thrombectomy remains to be defined. The RapidPulse Cyclic Aspiration System is a novel technology, delivering high-frequency pulsed vacuum forces to increase the efficiency of aspiration thrombectomy.
Methods: Prospective, multicenter, open-label, core lab-adjudicated, two-arm study comparing safety and efficacy of a feasibility version of the RapidPulse system compared with contemporary controls.

Objective: To find the frequency of hearing loss in newly diagnosed patients with fibromyalgia (FM), and the factors affecting it.
Study Design: Descriptive study. Place and Duration of the Study: Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Istanbul Medeniyet University, Goztepe Prof.
Objectives: Hearing loss has been described in patients with radiographic axial spondyloarthropathies (R-AxSpA) but has not been studied in patients with non-radiographic axial spondyloarthropathies (NR-AxSpA); accordingly, the aim of the study was to compare hearing loss in patients with NR-AxSpA, R-AxSpA, and healthy individuals.
Patients And Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was conducted with 68 participants (30 males, 38 females; mean age: 39.8±7.

Aortic valve endocarditis may be destructive and cause an acquired Gerbode-type defect. The use of biological material in the closure of the Gerbode defect and reconstruction of the aortic valve is essential for both early and long-term survival. Herein, we present a 62-year-old male patient whose Gerbode defect was repaired with bovine pericardium.

This study aimed to analyze the anatomy of DFA using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) angiography images to improve its clinical applications.
Materials And Methods: Eight hundred right and left DFA MDCT angiography images from 400 individuals, 302 males (75.
Background: The splenic artery (SA) variations are rarely reported in the literature. Knowledge of the range of the SA and other arterial anomalies and their specific frequencies is very important ever for every visceral surgeon as well as for treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding, organ transplantation, transarterial chemoembolisation of neoplasm, infusion therapy, therapeutic arterial ligation, iatrogenic injuries. At the literature, there are more studies on the coeliac trunk, superior mesenteric artery and hepatic artery variations, but studies on the SA variations are uncommon.

Comparisons of genomes of early domestic cattle to their aurochs progenitors identify diverse origins with separate introgressions of wild stock. A later region-wide Bronze Age shift indicates rapid and widespread introgression of zebu, from the Indus Valley.

Materials And Methods: This study was designed as a prospective case-control blinded study.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical anatomic variations of the proper hepatic artery (PHA) and the gastroduodenal artery (GDA). For this purpose, angiographic images of patients were evaluated. We retrospectively reviewed the multiple-detector computed tomography angiography images of 671 patients.

Characteristic appearance can be seen as "bulb eye" or "onion bulb". The initial terminology for this neurological disorder was leukoencephalitis periaxialis concentrica; this is defined as a disease in which the white matter of the brain is destroyed in concentric layers in such a way as to leave the axial cylinders intact.

Materials And Methods: We reviewed magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatographic and multiple-detector computed tomographic data.
Determining optimal activation function in artificial neural networks is an important issue because it is directly linked with obtained success rates. But, unfortunately, there is not any way to determine them analytically, optimal activation function is generally determined by trials or tuning. This paper addresses, a simpler and a more effective approach to determine optimal activation function.

Common presentation of atretic parietal cephalocele is mostly seen in infants and young children. It is a palpable midline parietal soft tissue mass which is thought to represent involuted true cephalocele (meningocele or encephalocele) connected to dura mater via a fibrous stalk. Atretic parietal cephalocele is associated with increased incidence of intracranial anomalies.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of multiple daily injection (MDI) treatment replaced by Exenatide BID as compared with continuation of MDI.
Patients And Methods: A total of 140 patients with type 2 diabetes, taking metformin and multiple daily insulin injections, were randomized to exenatide or insulin group that continued their insulin treatment. Patients were followed-up for 16 weeks.
In the last decades, several endangered breeds of livestock species have been re-established effectively. However, the successful revival of the Dutch and Danish Landrace goats involved crossing with exotic breeds and the ancestry of the current populations is therefore not clear. We have generated genotypes for 27 FAO-recommended microsatellites of these landraces and three phenotypically similar Nordic-type landraces and compared these breeds with central European, Mediterranean and south-west Asian goats.

This pilot study was designed to investigate the efficiency of ultrasound in verifying correct NGT placement and to compare these results with radiographic findings.
Materials And Methods: This was a single-center, double-blind prospective study of patients who had received an NGT in the pediatric critical care unit.
Background: The aim of this study was to detect reliability of Brucella Coombs gel test (BCGT) by comparing with with ELISA (IgG + IgM), Standard agglutination test, and Brucella immunocapture agglutination methods in serological diagnosis of brucellosis.
Methods: Brucella Coombs gel test (BCGT), Brucella ELISA (IgG + IgM), Standard agglutination test, and Brucella immunocapture agglutination tests of 78 patients with presumptive diagnosis of brucellosis which were sent to Microbiology Laboratory of Konya Numune Hospital from various regions of Konya were studied.
Results: Of 78 patients with ELISA IgG and IgM, STA, BICA and BCGT; 26, 21, 10, 12 and 12 were positive.

Feature extraction plays a major role in the pattern recognition process, and this paper presents a novel feature extraction approach, adaptive local binary pattern (aLBP). aLBP is built on the local binary pattern (LBP), which is an image processing method, and one-dimensional local binary pattern (1D-LBP). In LBP, each pixel is compared with its neighbors.

Genetic variations in chromosome Y are enabling researchers to identify paternal lineages, which are informative for introgressions and migrations. In this study, the male-specific region markers, sex-determining region-Y (SRY), amelogenin (AMELY) and zinc finger (ZFY) were analysed in seven Turkish native goat breeds, Angora, Kilis, Hair, Honamlı, Norduz, Gürcü and Abaza. A SNP in the ZFY gene defined a new haplotype Y2C.

Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is defined as a serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) level above the upper limit of normal despite normal levels of serum free thyroxine. There is growing evidence that SCH is associated with increased cardiovascular risk.
