The reproduction of mussels occurs within the water column, and if gametogenesis is successful, gametes are exposed to the surrounding contaminants. Nanoplastics and other emerging contaminants have been gaining vast attention; however, their effects on the reproductive tissues of mussels with sex differentiation are scarce. Whipped chickpea aquafaba (WAF) exhibits foaming, emulsifying, and gelling properties, making it a potential ingredient for replacing cream in ice cream formulations. The aim of this study was to use WAF in combination with whey protein isolate (WPI) to produce low-fat coffee ice cream with 50% (L50) and 80% (L80) milk cream replacement. Crowding is the inability to recognize an object in clutter, classically considered a fundamental low-level bottleneck to object recognition. Recently, however, it has been suggested that crowding, like predictive phenomena such as serial dependence, may result from optimizing strategies that exploit redundancies in natural scenes. This notion leads to several testable predictions, such as crowding being greater for nonsalient targets and, counterintuitively, that flanker interference should be associated with higher precision in judgements, leading to a lower overall error rate.

TiO nanoparticles loaded with pistachio shell lignin (8 % and 29 % w/w) were prepared by a hydrothermal wet chemistry approach. The efficient interaction at the molecular level of the biomacromolecule and inorganic component was demonstrated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Visible (UV-Vis), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis. The synergistic combination of lignin and TiO nanoparticles played a key role in the functional properties of the hybrid material, which exhibited boosted features compared to the separate organic and inorganic phase.
