is implicated in a range of conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, seizures, autosomal recessive nonsyndromic intellectual disability, heterotaxy, and ciliary dysfunction. In order to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions, we focused on the structural and dynamic activity consequences of mutations within this gene. In this study, whole exome sequencing identified the c.

Bacteriocins are ribosomally synthesized bacterial peptides endowed with antibacterial, antiprotozoal, anticancer and antiviral activities. In the present study, we evaluated the antiviral activities of two bacteriocins, enterocin DD14 (EntDD14) and lacticaseicin 30, against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E) and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in Vero, Huh7 and Vero E6 cells, respectively. In addition, the interactions of these bacteriocins with the envelope glycoprotein D of HSV-1 and the receptor binding domains of HCoV-229E and SARS-CoV-2 have been computationally evaluated using protein-protein docking and molecular dynamics simulations.

The synthesized AgNPs were characterized by different spectral methods such as UV-vis, FTIR, XRD, TEM, and EDAX. According to TEM analyses, the average size range of AgNPs was 17-21 nm, and the dominant peaks in the 111°, 200°, 221°, and 311° planes in the XRD pattern indicated the Ag-NPs FCC crystal structure.

Background: Various etiologies may underlie optic neuritis, including autoantibody-mediated disorders described in the last decade. We re-examined demographic, clinical, laboratory features and prognostic factors in pediatric patients with autoimmune optic neuritis according to current knowledge.
Methods: Cases of pediatric ON from 27 centers in Türkiye diagnosed between 2009 and 2022 were included for retrospective evaluation.
The aim of this study was to produce new nanocomposites with antimicrobial, antioxidant and anticancer properties that can be used in biomedical research based on carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) biopolymer. First, poly(2-oxo-2-(pentafluorophenoxy)ethyl-2-methylprop-2-enoate) (PPFMA) was synthesized and characterized by FTIR and NMR techniques. It was then blended with NaCMC by in situ/hydrothermal method to produce a semi-synthetic functional material.

Any disruptions in its function can lead to severe cardiovascular disorders such as long QT syndrome (LQTS), which increases the risk of serious cardiovascular problems such as tachyarrhythmia and sudden cardiac death. Drug-induced LQTS is a significant concern and has resulted in drug withdrawals from the market in the past.

Hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy) has been linked to many systemic disorders, including stroke, proteinuria, epilepsy, psychosis, diabetes, lung disease, and liver disease. The clinical effects of high serum Hcy level, also known as hyperhomocysteinemia, have been explained by different mechanisms.

NMOSD can be associated with seropositivity for aquaporin 4 antibody (AQP4 IgG), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody (MOG IgG), or can be seronegative for both. In this study, we retrospectively examined our seropositive and seronegative pediatric NMOSD patients.

This study investigates the empirical link between the social and financial performance of the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) by utilizing the PVAR-Granger causality model and a fixed-effects panel data model with a rich dataset comprising 234 ESG-rated REITs across five developed economies from 2003 to 2019. The results suggest that investors pay attention to individual E/S/G metrics and price each component of ESG investing differently, with E-investing and S-investing practices being the significant financial performance factors of REITs. This study is the first attempt to test the social impact and risk mitigation hypotheses of the stakeholder theory of the corporation and the neoclassic trade-off argument to explore the association between corporate social responsibility and the market valuation of REITs.

Background: Myotonia congenita is the most common form of nondystrophic myotonia and is caused by Mendelian inherited mutations in the CLCN1 gene encoding the voltage-gated chloride channel of skeletal muscle.
Objective: The study aimed to describe the clinical and genetic spectrum of Myotonia congenita in a large pediatric cohort.
Methods: Demographic, genetic, and clinical data of the patients aged under 18 years at time of first clinical attendance from 11 centers in different geographical regions of Türkiye were retrospectively investigated.
In this study, poly(2-(3,5-dichloroanilino)-2-oxoethyl 2-methylprop-2-enoate) (PDCOEMA), a new synthetic polymer based on methacrylate, was synthesized and characterized. The blend of PDCOEMA with chitosan (CS) was prepared by the hydrothermal method and the DSC technique confirmed its formation. It was observed that PDCOEMA increased the thermal stability and glass transition temperature (Tg) of CS.

Hesperidin (HSP) is considered to be the most effective antimicrobial agent against SARS-CoV2 virus. The HSP was loaded onto ZnO nanoparticles that were successfully incorporated, via the hydrothermal method, into polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) for use as food packaging material. The hydrothermal method enabled the bioactive ZnO-HSP to be homogeneously dispersed in the PVA, which significantly increased the thermal stability of the matrix, while decreasing the softening temperature.
