This study describes a dural incision technique for achieving primary dural closure without grafts following the retrosigmoid approach and presents clinical data from the authors' experience.
Methods: Clinical and surgical data of 227 patients who underwent the dural incision technique following the retrosigmoid approach for various pathologies were retrospectively reviewed.
Objective: The term "sagittal stratum" was coined by Heinrich Sachs in 1892 to define a parasagittally oriented white matter layer at the temporo-occipital cortex. Although this term has been widely used for more than 100 years, the description, classification, borders, and involved fibers of the structure vary among authors and remain imprecise. Through fiber microdissection and tractography, the authors aimed to define the sagittal stratum and resolve the uncertainty by revealing the relationship of this structure to other cerebral white matter pathways and the orientation of fibers in it.

Methods: From February 2019 to February 2022, 17 patients underwent robotic beating heart mitral valve surgery.
Background: Although many fixation methods are used alone or in combination for craniosynostosis, only few studies have compared the effectiveness and long-term results of these methods.
Method: In this study, patients in whom suture or resorbable plate-screw system was used for fixation were evaluated in terms of postoperative results and complications. The data of patients who underwent surgery for craniosynostosis between 2002 and 2019 were retrospectively reviewed and evaluated.
N-glycosylation and disulfide bond formation are two essential steps in protein folding that occur in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and reciprocally influence each other. Here, to analyze crosstalk between N-glycosylation and oxidation, we investigated how the protein disulfide oxidase ERO1-alpha affects glycosylation of the angiogenic VEGF, a key regulator of vascular homeostasis. ERO1 deficiency, while retarding disulfide bond formation in VEGF, increased utilization of its single N-glycosylation sequon, which lies close to an intra-polypeptide disulfide bridge, and concomitantly slowed its secretion.

Although redo surgery are relative contraindications for robotic surgery, robotic redo mitral valve surgery has been performed with endo-aortic occlusion techniques and on fibrillated heart successfully.
