The Use of Resveratrol as an Adjuvant Treatment of Pain in Endometriosis: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Context: Resveratrol has been used for the treatment of endometriosis.

Objective: To compare resveratrol (40 mg/d) with monophasic contraceptive pill (COC) to COC with placebo for the reduction of pain scores.

Design: A randomized clinical trial.

Moistening the new vaginal misoprostol tablets: does it increase the efficacy of cervical priming before manual vacuum aspiration in first-trimester miscarriage? A randomised clinical trial.

Objectives: The primary objective of our study was to ascertain whether moistening the Brazilian formulation of vaginal misoprostol tablets increases cervical dilation before manual vacuum aspiration (MVA), compared with use of dry misoprostol, in first-trimester miscarriage. The secondary objective was to ascertain whether there was any correlation between vaginal pH and the degree of cervical dilation using a moistened or dry misoprostol tablet.

Methods: In a single-centre, double-blind, randomised trial, 46 patients with first-trimester miscarriage were randomly allocated to treatment with dry or moistened (with 200 µl distilled water) 2 × 200 μg misoprostol tablets.

Maternal plasma levels of complement Factor H in miscarriage and in normal pregnancy: A cohort study.

The incidence of clinically recognizable miscarriage in general population is up to 15%. It has been shown that complement Factor H (CFH) mRNA levels were increased in endometrium of women during early pregnancy, compared to non-pregnant women. We hypothesized that patients with miscarriage could have lower protein levels of CFH.

Objective: To compare the ovulation rate between raloxifene and clomiphene citrate (CC) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Design: Double-blind, randomized, superiority clinical trial.

The influence of hydrosalpinx on endometrial elafin expression.

The endometrium of women with hydrosalpinx has an increased number of neutrophils and lower expression of elafin, an elastase inhibitor and natural antimicrobial molecule. These findings suggest that women with hydrosalpinx have a reduced antimicrobial and antielastase activity.

Immunohistochemical expression of p16 and p53 in vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva.

This study was undertaken to examine the expression of p16 and p53 in vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the vulva. We also analyzed the relationship between p16 and p53 immunoexpression in women younger vs. older than 55 years of age.
