TULUA Lipoabdominoplasty: Transversal Aponeurotic Plication, No Undermining, and Unrestricted Liposuction. A Multicenter Study of 845 Cases.

Background: TULUA (transverse plication, no undermining, full liposuction, neoumbilicoplasty, and low transverse abdominal scar) is the acronym for a radically different lipoabdominoplasty, intended to add simplicity, improve vascular safety, and attain good results. Modifications are unrestricted liposuction, no flap detachment, massive transverse infraumbilical plication, umbilicus amputation, neoumbilicoplasty, diminished tension wound closure, and low transverse scar settlement. The objectives of this article are to describe the technique and analyze a multicenter experience.

Hyaluronic acid fillers with cohesive polydensified matrix for soft-tissue augmentation and rejuvenation: a literature review.

Background: Cohesive monophasic polydensified fillers show unique viscoelastic properties and variable density of hyaluronic acid, allowing for a homogeneous tissue integration and distribution of the material.

Objective: The aim of this paper was to review the clinical data regarding the performance, tolerability, and safety of the Belotero(®) fillers for soft-tissue augmentation and rejuvenation.

Methods: A literature search was performed up until May 31, 2015 to identify all relevant articles on Belotero(®) fillers (Basic/Balance, Hydro, Soft, Intense, Volume) and equivalent products (Esthélis(®), Mesolis(®), Fortélis(®), Modélis(®)).

The importance of the areolar smooth muscle in augmentation mastoplasty.

Publications about breast implant surgery using the periareolar incision and those about mastoplasty do not mention the areolar smooth muscle. The purpose of this article is to present the importance that suturing the areolar smooth muscle may have in the prognosis of intra-areolar incisions in breast surgery and in the areola shape changes when it contracts after surgery.

Complete mobilization of the cheek zone for orbit exenteration.

Patients with malignant orbital tumors often undergo eyeball excision, orbital tissues and lids, which results in severe deformities. Our experience concerns the use of a skin fascial flap of the cheek zone, the V-Y design, in 10 patients after ocular malignant tumor resection. Seven patients had basal cell carcinomas of the lower lids with invasion of the ocular tissues.
