Background: Dislocation of the knee is a serious and potentially limb-threatening injury. There are three types of dislocation around the knee joint: patellofemoral, tibiofemoral, and tibiofibular. Tibiofemoral dislocation is the variant that is deemed the most serious, with a higher risk of compromise to the popliteal artery and common peroneal nerve.

Background: Stem cell regeneration is the holy grail of meniscal tissue repair. Currently, the best treatment is to preserve the original meniscus but if it fails, a partial meniscectomy is indicated to delay the onset of osteoarthritis.
