Background: The prevalence of acute aortic dissection (AAD) has been gradually increasing in recent years. This study aimed to investigate the circadian variations of AAD onset in a northwest Chinese population and provide scientific insights for AAD prevention.
Methods: The clinical data of 1,145 AAD patients admitted to our hospital between January 2010 and December 2020 were retrospectively collected, and the periodic features of AAD were analyzed.
Objectives: To compare the efficacy and prognosis of one-stop hybrid surgery using the elephant trunk procedure for treatment of complex Stanford type B aortic dissection.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients who underwent surgical treatment from January 2014 to July 2019. The patients were divided into those who underwent the elephant trunk procedure (n = 10) and those who underwent one-stop hybrid surgery (n = 10).
A fistula between the pulmonary artery (PA) and the left atrium (LA) is a rare congenital heart disease that usually presents with cyanosis, clubbing, and dyspnea, as well as the signs and symptoms of a right-to-left shunt. Herein, we report a 16-year-old girl with a fistula between the right PA and the LA. This type of fistula could lead to systemic desaturation.

In addition, Apoptin shows different localization in tumor cells and normal cells: it predominantly accumulates in nucleus of tumor cells, whereas in normal cells, it is detected mainly in cytoplasm.

Aim: To study the expression and clinical significance of Nrf2 (Nuclear factor E2 p45-related factor 2) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).
Methods: The expression of Nrf2 in 32 cases of EC tissues, 30 cases of adjacent tissues, 21 positive Lymph node tissues and 24 negative Lymph node tissues was assessed by SP immunohistochemical method.
Results: The main location of Nrf2 was nuclear, and the positive rates of Nrf2 in the cancer tissues was 78.

Aim: To research different effects of human breast carcinoma cells with different estrogen receptor expressing by antidiabetic drug metformin, and preliminary explore the possible underlying molecular mechanisms.
Methods: Cells were treated with metformin. Growth inhibition rates of the cells were measured by MTT assay.
