- The survey aimed to assess the prevalence of anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in sheep across 63 flocks in Paraíba, Brazil, and identify related risk factors.
- A total of 540 blood samples were analyzed, revealing that 28 out of 63 flocks (44.44%) and 60 out of 540 sheep (11.11%) tested positive for T. gondii antibodies using an indirect immunofluorescent antibody test (IFAT).
- A notable risk factor identified was flock size, specifically flocks with more than 25 animals, which had a higher likelihood of seropositivity (odds ratio = 3.2).
