Research has documented inequities in geographic access to board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) among children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Unexplored is geographic access to registered behavior technicians (RBTs), the frontline ABA providers BCBAs supervise. In this study we examined county-level geographic access to RBTs in the United States, including change in their geographic distribution over time, the current distribution of RBTs related to the distribution of BCBAs, and the current distribution of RBTs as a function of children with ASD.

The number of colleges and universities offering behavior analytic training has grown rapidly over the last decade and it is time for our profession to evaluate the rigor of such trainings and to gain quality control. In this study we set out to investigate first-time pass rates on the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) examinations across Verified Course Sequences (VCSs) using publicly available data between 2013 to 2020. We evaluated outcomes related to overall first-time pass rates; the small number of programs contributing the greatest number of BCBA exam candidates; and the difference in first-time pass rates by mode of instruction and ABAI accreditation.

Identifying and isolating individuals infected with COVID-19 are critical steps in stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Until widespread testing and contact tracing systems are implemented, alternative methods must be considered. One way that organizations can protect employees and clients is by creating their own automated health attestation systems.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has had a significant impact on the practice of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Practitioners and caregivers have had to adapt quickly as physical distancing, stay-at-home orders, and shelter-in-place directives have become commonplace. As the field copes with the changes produced by the COVID-19 outbreak, many behavior analytic practitioners are seeking guidance from regulatory bodies to ensure they are practicing legally and ethically.

Creating phase change lines and their corresponding labels in Microsoft Excel® remains a difficulty for many behavior analysts who want these display features to be integrated into the graph itself. Previous methods designed to address this issue have had limited utility across the types of data sets commonly analyzed by behavior analysts. The purpose of this article is to provide a fully functional method for integrating phase change lines and labels into Microsoft Excel® line graphs.

Individuals interested in applying to sit for a Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB) examination are required to accumulate a predetermined number of experience and supervision hours under the BACB Experience Standards (BACB, 2015c). Currently, the BACB allows students to accumulate these hours while enrolled in a higher education training program that contains a BACB-Approved Course Sequence (ACS). There are numerous professional and financial benefits for programs offering practical training opportunities to students.

Microsoft Excel® is a popular graphing tool used by behavior analysts to visually display data. However, this program is not always friendly to the graphing conventions used by behavior analysts. For example, adding phase change lines has typically been a cumbersome process involving the insertion of line objects that do not move when new data is added to a graph.

Behavior analytic practitioners have an ethical obligation to stay abreast of the most recent research developments in their areas of expertise. Although conducting frequent and comprehensive literature searches is one way to meet this mandate, doing so can be a time intensive process. One way to reduce the effort involved in this process is setting up automated literature and news searches using RSS feeds via programs like Google Reader(™).
