Colorimetric evaluation after in-office tooth bleaching with violet LED: 6- and 12-month follow-ups of a randomized clinical trial.

Objectives: To evaluate the long-term outcomes of in-office bleaching with violet LED light (LED) alone or combined with carbamide (CP) or hydrogen (HP) peroxides.

Methods: Volunteers of a previous short-term study were recalled for 6- and 12-month follow-ups, according to the following interventions (n = 18/group): LED, CP, LED/CP, HP, and LED/HP. The objective color (ΔE, ΔE) and whiteness index (ΔWI) changes were calculated applying the CIELab coordinates' values obtained using a spectrophotometer.

Effect of violet LED light on in-office bleaching protocols: a randomized controlled clinical trial.

Objective This study evaluated the clinical effect of violet LED light on in-office bleaching used alone or combined with 37% carbamide peroxide (CP) or 35% hydrogen peroxide (HP). Methodology A total of 100 patients were divided into five groups (n=20): LED, LED/CP, CP, LED/HP and HP. Colorimetric evaluation was performed using a spectrophotometer (ΔE, ΔL, Δa, Δb) and a visual shade guide (ΔSGU).
