Spitz tumor (nevus) is a rare, melanocytic lesion that primarily affects children and adolescents. The lesion may share many clinical and histological similarities with malignant melanoma and careful microscopic examination is required to render the proper diagnosis. Complete excision with close follow-up is considered the appropriate treatment.
