The usage patterns of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by orthopedic and nonorthopedic surgeons were studied. A sample consisting of the radiologist reports from all knee MRIs in a single year at our institution were reviewed. Studies to evaluate tumors or infections were excluded.
