Article Synopsis
  • The article examines changes in immune cell types in peri-implant soft tissue after three months of treatment with a collagen matrix in 12 patients.
  • Researchers used immunohistochemical stains to identify and analyze various inflammatory cells and fibroblasts before and after the augmentation process.
  • The study found significant increases in certain endothelial cells and anti-inflammatory macrophages, indicating their importance in the healing process, suggesting potential for future therapeutic developments.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate changes in buccal mucosal thickness at implant sites following a soft tissue augmentation using a volume-stable collagen matrix (VCMX) in 12 patients during implant placement.
  • Measurements were taken before the surgery and at 1 month and 6 months post-surgery using hydrocolloid impressions and stone cast models, which were analyzed for changes in soft tissue thickness and contour.
  • Results indicated that while there was an initial increase in ridge width and thickness immediately after augmentation, a slight decrease in the ridge contour was observed from 1 to 6 months post-surgery.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of autogenous particulate dentin as a bone substitute to maintain dimensional volume in human socket preservation procedures.

Materials And Methods: Particulate dentin was used in socket site preservation procedures. The extracted natural tooth was ground to particles 250 to 1,200 μm in size to fill the socket site.

Aim: This study aims to examine the composition of lining and masticatory mucosa at the pre- and post-soft tissue augmentation procedures with a volume-stable cross-linking collagen matrix (VCMX) in humans.

Materials And Methods: In 12 patients, single implant sites were augmented with a VCMX. Biopsies were obtained including masticatory (MM) and lining (LM) mucosa before augmentation and at 12 weeks post-augmentation procedures.
