Objective: This study was conducted to present the long-term functional outcomes of injection laryngoplasty (IL) with hyaluronic acid/dextranomer (HA/D) in unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP).

Methods: A total of 40 patients who underwent HA/D injection for UVFP were enrolled. The acoustic analysis of the voice was evaluated with jitter percentage, shimmer percentage, maximum phonation time, harmonics-to-noise ratio, and fundamental frequency.

Effect of betahistine treatment on dizziness and anxiety symptoms of BPPV patients.

Background: Patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) may experience significant deterioration in their quality of life due to dizziness and anxiety symptoms.

Aim: To evaluate the effect of betahistine add-on therapy on dizziness and anxiety symptoms of BPPV patients.

Materials And Methods: Eighty-four patients who were diagnosed as having posterior canal BPPV were included in the study.

The Use of Three-Dimensional Printed Technology for Mandibular Reconstruction in a Rare Case of Giant Odontogenic Myxofibroma.

Odontogenic myxofibroma is a benign odontogenic tumor of mesenchymal tissue that generally originates from the mandible. It is an extremely rare tumor accounting for approximately 2% of all odontogenic tumors. In this report, the authors presented a giant right mandibular mass that extends to the angle of the mandible and displacing the tongue laterally caused significant malocclusion, pain, and impaired oral intake.

Investigation of Serum Calcium and 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D Levels in Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo Patients.

Objective: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is characterized by recurrent attacks of vertigo caused by head movements. It occurs as a result of otoconia falling into the semicircular canal. Calcium and 25 hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] metabolism in the inner ear play an important role in otoconia formation and degeneration.

Evaluation of Inflammatory Blood Markers in Sinonasal Inverted Papilloma.

Objective: Sinonasal inverted papillomas are benign neoplasms of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. They have characteristic features such as a high risk of recurrence and possible malignant transformation. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between sinonasal inverted papilloma and inflammatory blood markers.

Effect of Nasal Skin Type on Skin Problems following Rhinoplasty.

Skin problems following rhinoplasty may cause dissatisfaction concerning the esthetic expectations of the patients. This study was conducted to determine whether nasal skin type has an effect on skin problems after rhinoplasty. Thirty-five patients undergoing rhinoplasty in our tertiary referral center between May 2018 and August 2019 were included in the study.

Functional Outcomes of the Hyaluronic Acid Injections in Patients Who Underwent Partial Laryngectomy.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of hyaluronic acid injection on dysphagia, aspiration, and voice problems in patients with persistent functional problems despite appropriate rehabilitation after partial laryngectomy.

Methods: Seventeen patients who underwent hyaluronic acid injection due to persistent swallowing, aspiration, and voice problems after partial laryngectomy surgery were included in the study. The hyaluronic acid injection was performed after 2 years of follow-up after partial laryngectomy surgery.

Effect of Turbinate Intervention on Nasal Functions in Septorhinoplasty Surgery.

Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the effect of inferior turbinate reduction on nasal function.

Materials And Methods: A total of 32 patients who underwent septorhinoplasty (SRP) operation were included in the study and assigned into 2 groups as group I who received inferior turbinate reduction during SRP operation consisted of 17 patients and the group II who consisted of 15 patients without inferior turbinate reduction. For 2 groups before and after surgery, visual analogue score and findings of the acoustic rhinometry were recorded both before and after decongestion of the nasal mucosa.

Osteosarcoma of the Ethmoid Sinus.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a malignant bone tumor and it is very rare in head and neck region. If it arises in this area, most common localizations of this tumor are mandible and maxilla and ethmoid sinus is very rare site for this malignancy. A 43-year-old female admitted to our clinic with the complaint of pain in the right half of the face and headache persisting for 2 months.

A Rare Cause of Objective Tinnitus: Jugular Diverticulum.

The jugular bulb is a venous structure linking the sigmoid sinus with the internal jugular vein. Jugular diverticulum is a rare condition characterized by extraluminal outpouching from the jugular bulb. As the patients may be totally asymptomatic, but sensorineural symptoms such as sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus and vertigo can also occur.

Cellular Angiofibroma of the Nasopharynx.

Angiofibroma is a common tumor of the nasopharynx region but cellular type is extremely rare in head and neck. A 13-year-old boy presented with frequent epistaxis and nasal obstruction persisting for 6 months. According to the clinical symptoms and imaging studies juvenile angiofibroma was suspected.

Cervical Necrotizing Fasciitis of Odontogenic Origin and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is an infection of the soft tissues pathology with high mortality that spreads through the fascial planes and rarely seen in head and neck region. The cause of infection is often odontogenic problems. Broad-spectrum antibiotics, surgical debridement, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) are important for the treatment of disease.

Effect of Spreader Graft on Nasal Functions in Septorhinoplasty Surgery.

Objective: The authors aimed to investigate the effect of spreader grafts on nasal function in septorhinoplasty (SRP).

Methods: A prospective randomized double-blind study was conducted. Thirty patients who underwent SRP operation between October 2011 and January 2013 were divided into 2 equal groups randomly.

End-to-end anastomosis in the management of laryngotracheal defects.

Objective: To present clinical experience and surgical outcomes of end-to-end anastomosis in the management of laryngotracheal stenosis and tracheal defects following invasive thyroid malignancy resection.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed of 14 patients with laryngotracheal stenosis and tracheal invasive thyroid malignancy. All patients underwent tracheal or cricotracheal resection and primary end-to-end anastomosis.
