Introduction: Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is crucial for saving lives when used appropriately. This study aimed to assess TPE's impact on tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) protein and IL-6 levels in critically ill pediatric patients.

Methods: Conducted between May 2022 and December 2022, the study observed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) patients undergoing TPE, recording demographics, lab results, TWEAK, and IL-6 levels pre- and post-procedure.

Background/aim: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease. Several studies have shown that alterations of microbiota increase the risk of neurodegenerative disorders. We aimed to reveal whether there is a difference in the gut microbiota of patients with ALS.

Methods: Patients who underwent VNOTES sentinel lymph node biopsy with the Comba modification were compared to patients who underwent conventional laparoscopic sentinel lymph node biopsy performed by the same surgical team. A total of 38 patients who underwent sentinel lymph node biopsy + total laparoscopic hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) were compared with 19 patients who underwent VNOTES retroperitoneal sentinel lymph node biopsy + hysterectomy and BSO.
