Composite coatings containing reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and 3-(aminopropyl)triethoxysilane functionalised rGO (APTES-rGO) were prepared by sol-gel technology and deposited on Al 2024 T-3. Maintenance and regeneration of the zebrafish olfactory epithelium (OE) are supported by two distinct progenitor cell populations that occupy spatially discrete stem cell niches and respond to different tissue conditions. Globose basal cells (GBCs) reside at the inner and peripheral margins of the sensory OE and are constitutively active to replace sporadically dying olfactory sensory neurons (OSNs). This study aims to develop a MIP-Apt-based electrochemical biosensor for the sensitive and selective determination of Lysozyme (Lyz), a food allergen. Midgut malrotation has a noticeable frequency among congenital anomalies and presents mostly as vomiting. We report a case of a five-year-old boy with recurrent attacks of bilious vomiting and mild epigastric colicky abdominal pain for a year. Midgut malrotation with Ladd's band and superior mesenteric vein (SMV) dilatation causing partial intestinal obstruction were diagnosed based on the clinical presentation, upper gastrointestinal (GI) barium follow-through study, computed tomography (CT) scan with and without IV contrast, and intraoperative findings.

By sequencing 727 ancient individuals from the Southern Arc (Anatolia and its neighbors in Southeastern Europe and West Asia) over 10,000 years, we contextualize its Chalcolithic period and Bronze Age (about 5000 to 1000 BCE), when extensive gene flow entangled it with the Eurasian steppe. Two streams of migration transmitted Caucasus and Anatolian/Levantine ancestry northward, and the Yamnaya pastoralists, formed on the steppe, then spread southward into the Balkans and across the Caucasus into Armenia, where they left numerous patrilineal descendants. Anatolia was transformed by intra-West Asian gene flow, with negligible impact of the later Yamnaya migrations.

We present the first ancient DNA data from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic of Mesopotamia (Southeastern Turkey and Northern Iraq), Cyprus, and the Northwestern Zagros, along with the first data from Neolithic Armenia. We show that these and neighboring populations were formed through admixture of pre-Neolithic sources related to Anatolian, Caucasus, and Levantine hunter-gatherers, forming a Neolithic continuum of ancestry mirroring the geography of West Asia. By analyzing Pre-Pottery and Pottery Neolithic populations of Anatolia, we show that the former were derived from admixture between Mesopotamian-related and local Epipaleolithic-related sources, but the latter experienced additional Levantine-related gene flow, thus documenting at least two pulses of migration from the Fertile Crescent heartland to the early farmers of Anatolia.

Literary and archaeological sources have preserved a rich history of Southern Europe and West Asia since the Bronze Age that can be complemented by genetics. Mycenaean period elites in Greece did not differ from the general population and included both people with some steppe ancestry and others, like the Griffin Warrior, without it. Similarly, people in the central area of the Urartian Kingdom around Lake Van lacked the steppe ancestry characteristic of the kingdom's northern provinces.

Objective: To employ a relatively new and easy-to-use quantitative assessment method to reveal volumetric changes in subcortical gray matter (GM) regions, hippocampus, and global intracranial structures as well as the diagnostic performance and best thresholds of total hippocampal volumetry in individuals with AD and those with aMCI.

This study presents an approach to the determination of nutrient sensitive areas (SA) based on National Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulation harmonized under the Water Framework Directive (WFD). A three-stage approach that covers designation of potential sensitive areas (PSA) which are under the risk of eutrophication, physicochemical and biological monitoring at PSA, and application of the suitable biotic indices is used for the determination of sensitive areas. PSA are identified as a result of either available monitoring data or if this is not available according to indexing method which developed in this study based on pressure and impact analysis.
