Background: Functional capacity assessments have an important role in determining the level of mobility in lower-limb prosthetic users.
Objectives: Our aim was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Glittre activities of daily living (ADL) test in lower-limb prosthetic users.
Study Design: A cross-sectional study.
Purpose: In cardiovascular surgeries, iron deficiency anemia and transfusion of blood products are associated with mortality and morbidity, prolonged hospital stay and poor patient outcomes. Patient blood management (PBM) is a patient-centered approach based on a 'three pillar' model that promotes optimum use of blood and blood products to improve outcomes. This study assessed the potential budget impact of implementing PBM in patients undergoing elective cardiovascular surgery in a private hospital in Turkey.

Background: Interprofessional collaboration is crucial in healthcare to enhance patient safety and outcomes. Interprofessional education (IPE) promotes teamwork, communication and understanding of professional roles among healthcare professionals.
Background: Patients' comfort level during the injection procedure affects the quality of care. However, the literature does not provide a valid, reliable, and specific measurement tool to measure this level.
Objective: The present study aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine patients' comfort levels during the injection procedure.
Objectives: Fournier's gangrene is an aggressive, rapidly progressing, and life-threatening necrotizing fasciitis of the perineal and genital regions. Various scoring systems have been developed for predicting survival and prognosis in Fournier's gangrene. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the newly developed Fournier's gangrene mortality index (FGMI) in predicting mortality associated with Fournier's gangrene.

This fish is exposed to environmental factors due to the metal toxicity in its habitat and, consequently, its diet. The main purpose of this study was to determine how the detoxification mechanism of shabout is affected by examining the interaction of glutathione s-transferase enzyme with heavy metals.

This study aimed to compare USP9X and TGF-β levels in children with autism and healthy controls, and explore their relationship with autism severity.
Methods: Serum USP9X and TGF-β levels were measured in 41 healthy control children (aged 3-12 years) and 41 children with autism.

While corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) was initially used for stimulation, desmopressin has become a common alternative. This research evaluates desmopressin's effectiveness in lateralizing Cushing's disease (CD) during BIPSS compared to CRH stimulation.

Materials And Methods: Between January 2022 and January 2023, patients who developed JET after pediatric cardiac surgery were prospectively followed up and documented.
Quadro-iliac plane block (QIPB) is a novel regional anesthesia technique that provides analgesia in the abdominal, lumbar, and hip regions. Case reports about the efficacy of this block in the literature are limited. In this report, we would like to share our successful QIPB experience with a patient with chronic myofascial low back pain.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study included 30 children diagnosed with congenital intrinsic ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) and a control group of 30 healthy children admitted to the pediatric clinic between January 2016 and February 2017. The children with UPJO underwent laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty.
Background: Living donor hepatectomy is a procedure associated with notable postoperative pain, impacting patient recovery and satisfaction. Addressing this challenge, we aimed to examine the effect of ultrasound-guided bilateral erector spinae plane block (ESPB) in postoperative analgesia management of patients undergoing living donor hepatectomy for liver transplantation.
Methods: A single-center prospective, randomized, controlled study was conducted on ASA I-II patients aged 18-65 who underwent elective living donor hepatectomy.
Background: This study aimed to determine the molecular epidemiology of colistin-resistant in the last ten years and the frequency of gene regions related to pathogenesis, to compare the methods used to detect genes, and to confirm colistin resistance.
Methods: This meta-analysis study was conducted under Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Guidelines. In the meta-analysis, research articles published in English and Turkish in electronic databases between January 2012 and November 2023 were examined.
: Hepatitis A virus (HAV) is a leading cause of acute viral hepatitis and is primarily transmitted by the fecal-oral route. The clinical presentation and progression of the disease varies according to the age of the patient. Turkey is classified as a moderately endemic country, and HAV infection continues to be an important public health problem worldwide.

Background: Using social media in nursing education enables students to experience interactive learning, strengthening learning outcomes and creating an enriched learning environment with up-to-date information.
Method: The study was conducted as a randomized controlled study.
Aim: This study aimed to investigate the biomechanical properties of 60 % carbon fiber-reinforced polyetheretherketone (Cfr-PEEK), which exhibits high mechanical strength and can address the limitations of titanium mini plates used in Le Fort I osteotomy.
Material And Method: Models were created using the FEA method based on tomography images of adult individuals. A 5 mm maxillary advancement was applied to the models following Le Fort I osteotomy.
Polyphenols are plant secondary metabolites that have attracted much attention due to their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and gut homeostasis promoting effects. However, food matrix interaction, poor solubility, and strong digestion and metabolism of polyphenols cause barriers to their absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, which further reduces bioavailability and limits polyphenols' application in the food industry. Nano-delivery systems composed of biocompatible macromolecules (polysaccharides, proteins and lipids) are an effective way to improve the bioavailability of polyphenols.
