Article Synopsis
  • - This paper examines how positive bias temperature instability (PBTI) affects the threshold voltage shift (ΔV) in silicon carbide (SiC) power MOSFETs at high temperatures (150 °C).
  • - Two primary mechanisms are identified for ΔV: trapping in existing defects at the interface and the formation of new oxide defects, which occur at a specific energy level (~80 meV).
  • - Different methods of analysis show consistent patterns in ΔV degradation across various gate stress voltages, offering valuable insights for improving the reliability of SiC MOSFETs.

Article Synopsis
  • - In 2023, key studies in reproductive endocrinology focused on fertility preservation for men with Klinefelter's syndrome, evaluating testosterone replacement therapy's cardiovascular safety, and introducing fezolinetant as a new treatment for menopause symptoms.
  • - Updated European guidelines on adrenal incidentalomas are set to significantly change clinical practice in this area.
  • - New data revealed that approximately 1 in 1000 individuals have pituitary adenomas, and a large study in Britain refined the treatment options for hyperthyroidism by assessing their benefit-risk profiles.

Rare Findings in the Workup of Abdominal Pain Atypical symptoms such as abdominal discomfort or epigastric pain can be misleading in patients presenting conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension or ischemic heart disease. In this article we describe two cases of impressively large adrenal masses discovered only several years after the appearance of nonspecific symptoms.

To evaluate the incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), gestational glucose intolerance (GGI), and birth major complications, a population of 1042 pregnant women was screened after the end of the second trimester with a two-step screening method. Patients with a positive 50-g screening test (plasma glucose ≥ 7.8 mmol/l at 1 h) underwent a 3-h standard 100-g oral glucose tolerance test.
