Cross-cultural validation of the Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire in vascular amputees fitted with prostheses in Spain.

Background: The lack of specific prosthetic-related outcome instruments for Spanish amputees must be addressed.

Objective: To elaborate a culturally equivalent version of the Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire in the Spanish language.

Intravesical migration and spontaneous expulsion of a Hem-o-lok polymer ligating clip after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

We present a rare postoperative complication occurring after a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with nerve-sparing procedure carried out with the placement of 3 Weck Hem-o-lok-L clips in the right neurovascular bundle, in a patient with clinically localized prostate cancer. The procedure was completed without any complications and the urethral catheter was removal at 15 days. We report a case of intravesical migration and subsequent calculus formation with spontaneous expulsion of Hem-o-lok clip.

Alternative ventilation strategies: laryngeal masks.

The appropriate role for laryngeal masks during delivery room resuscitation has not been established. The authors systematically reviewed the literature to answer three clinical questions: (1) In newborns requiring positive-pressure ventilation for resuscitation, would a laryngeal mask achieve safe and effective ventilation faster than facemask ventilation? (2) In newborns unable to be ventilated effectively with a facemask during resuscitation, would a laryngeal mask achieve effective ventilation faster than endotracheal intubation? (3) In newborns requiring resuscitation, would a laryngeal mask achieve effective ventilation when facemask ventilation and endotracheal intubation have been unsuccessful?

[Usefulness of Levosimendan in patients with ventricular dysfunction before surgery].

Unlabelled: The purpose of this work was to observe the hemodynamic stability on the first 24 hours in 4 patients with ventricular dysfunction (Ejected Fraction < 40 %), considered of high surgical risk, in which 24 at 48 hr before the surgery received an infusion of Levosimendan for 24 hours.
