[Influence of gender and place of residence differences on the evolution and mortality of ischemic cardiopathy in Catalonia: a population-based study.].

Objective: Some bibliography supports a diagnostic and therapeutic delay in women with high cardiovascular risk. The objective of this paper was to know the incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and mortality in a cohort with Metabolic Syndrome (MetS); analyze possible differences in gender and place of residence, regarding the performance of primary angioplasties in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD).

Methods: Population cohort study, with SIDIAP database (Sistema de Información para la Investigación en Atención Primaria), in primary care in Catalonia.

[Impact of place of residence on the presentation of cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality in a cohort with metabolic syndrome].

Objective: In order to clarify the relation between deprivation and morbillity and mortality, in function of different residence places, we design this study. Main objective is to analyze the influence of place of residence on the incidence of cardiovascular events (CVD) and general mortality from any cause, in a cohort with metabolic syndrome.

Methods: Prospective study to determine the incidence of CVD according to the place of residence (rural, urban) in individuals with different combinations of clinical features of Metabolic Syndrome (MS).

[Effect of an educational intervention on the attitudes of the nurses of primary care on depression].

Objective: To describe nurse attitudes toward depression, using a standardized questionnaire and to evaluate how a training workshop can modify or influence these attitudes.

Methods: A prospective study based on the application of the Depression Attitude Questionnaire, before and six months after, participating in a training day on the nursing role in the management of depression in Primary Care. The sample consisted of 40 Primary Care nurses from 10 health centers in the province of Tarragona.
