In this research, it was aimed to evaluate of social and community factors effective in increasing the number of liver donors. Descriptive and relational scanning models were used to conduct the research. Methods: A total of 108 acute non-biliary pancreatitis patients (ANBP) were retrospectively subjected to the study. Gender, age, number of attacks, hospitalization duration, amylase, lipase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), leukocyte, C-reactive protein (CRP), total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, Atlanta score, ultrasonography (USG), Computer Tomography (CT) and patient outcome differences between TLR 4 Rs4986790, TLR 4 Rs4986791 and TLR 2 groups were evaluated.

Background: Complications and comorbidities that may develop after living donor liver transplantation may necessitate rehospitalization after discharge. We aimed to investigate the demographic and clinical factors affecting rehospitalization after discharge.
Methods: Two hundred seventy patients who underwent living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT) for end-stage liver cirrhosis were included in the study.
Objective: It was aimed to examine the overall role of cold ischemia time and anhepatic phase durations in terms of peroperative blood transfusion needs, hospital stay conditions and postoperative charges, and survival in recipients.
Material And Methods: One hundred forty-eight adult living donor liver transplant recipients (18 years and older) were included in the study. Whether the anhepatic phase and cold ischemia duration have an effect on the rates of surgery time, blood product transfusion, total hospital and intensive care unit stay, postoperative biliary complications, hepatic vein thrombosis, portal vein thrombosis, early postoperative bleeding, sepsis, and primary graft dysfunction.
Background: We aimed to study the predictive value of preoperative perform [18F] Fludeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography ([18] FDG PET-CT) for survival in liver transplantation due to hepatocellular cancer.
Methods: Ninety-six patients who underwent liver transplantation for hepatocellular cancer (HCC) after preoperative PET-CT evaluation were examined for the study. All patients' ages, genders, body mass index, blood groups, Child-Pugh and Model for End-Stage Liver Disease scores, etiologies, median Alpha Fetoprotein values, Milan Criteria and T stages, grades, macrovascular and microvascular invasions, multicentricities, maximum and total tumor sizes, tumor number findings in explant specimens, and recurrence rates were analyzed statistically.
Objective: Factor 2 and Factor 5 mutations are among the most common procoagulant genetic disorders and are routinely evaluated in donor preparation. Homozygous mutations are contraindicated for surgery, but heterozygous mutations cannot be said to be an impediment. We aimed to investigate the effect of heterozygous gene mutation of F2 and/or F5 on complications.

In this study, we aimed to present that incarcerated Spigelian hernia is an important cause of acute abdomen although it is rare and accounts for 1-2% of all abdominal wall hernias. Spigelian hernia arises from a defect in the aponeurosis of the transversus abdominis muscle, also known as the Spiegel fascia. This case analysis aims to present a Spigelian hernia case in which the sigmoid colon is incarcerated.

In view of the inflammatory nature of acute pancreatitis, we aimed to determine the predictive value of mutations in Asp299Gly and Thr399Ile of the Toll-like receptor 4 gene, and the intron 2 microsatellite polymorphism of the Toll-like receptor 2 gene on the occurrence of acute biliary pancreatitis.
Material And Methods: The study included 86 patients for the Toll-like receptor 4 Thr399Ile polymorphism, 100 patients for the Toll-like receptor 4 Asp299Gly polymorphism with acute biliary pancreatitis, and 101 healthy volunteers.

Backgrounds/aims: Inflammatory mediators of the innate immune response play fundamental roles in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis. The correlation between interleukin-8 (IL-8) gene polymorphism with types of acute pancreatitis and severity of pancreatitis, was evaluated in this study.
Methods: According to the diagnostic criteria, 176 patients with acute pancreatitis were grouped into biliary (n=83) and nonbiliary pancreatitis (n=93).
Background/aim: Microcalcifications are generally accepted as highly specific for thyroid malignancy, especially for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). The aim of this study was to determine the significance of microcalcification within nodules that were classified as being of “indeterminate cytology” (IC) according to fine-needle aspiration biopsy.
Materials And Methods: Patients who underwent thyroidectomy between January 2010 and 2013 were included in the study.
