T cell migration plays an essential role in the immune response and T cell-based therapies. It can be modulated by chemical and physical cues such as electric fields (EFs). The mechanisms underlying electrotaxis (cell migration manipulated by EFs) are not fully understood and systematic studies with immune cells are rare.

Introduction: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is performed worldwide to treat blood cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders. As successful transplantation requires an HLA-compatible donor, unrelated donor centers and registries have been established worldwide to identify donors for patients without a family match. Ethnic minorities are underrepresented in large donor registries.

Background: This review aims to identify what angulation may be accepted for the conservative treatment of pediatric radial neck fractures and how the range of motion (ROM) at follow-up is influenced by the type of fracture treatment. Patients and Methods: A PRISMA-guided systematic search was performed for studies that reported on fracture angulation, treatment details, and ROM on a minimum of five children with radial neck fractures that were followed for at least one year. Data on fracture classification, treatment, and ROM were analyzed.

Cell migration plays an essential role in wound healing and inflammatory processes inside the human body. Peripheral blood neutrophils, a type of polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN), are the first cells to be activated during inflammation and subsequently migrate toward an injured tissue or infection site. This response is dependent on both biochemical signaling and the extracellular environment, one aspect of which includes increased temperature in the tissues surrounding the inflammation site.

Background: Diagnosing capitellar osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) can be difficult, causing delay in treating young athletes. The main aim of this retrospective diagnostic study was to determine which radiological technique is preferred to identify and classify elbow OCD.

Methods: We identified young patients who underwent elbow arthroscopy because of symptomatic OCD.

Background: Various surgical treatment techniques have been developed to treat capitellar osteochondritis dissecans; however, the optimal technique remains the subject of ongoing debate.

Purpose: To evaluate clinical outcomes after arthroscopic debridement and microfracture for advanced capitellar osteochondritis dissecans.

Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence, 4.

Background: Vedolizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the α4β7-integrin, is effective in inducing and maintaining clinical remission in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis according to randomised clinical trials.

Aim: To determine the long-term effectiveness of vedolizumab in a real-world clinical setting.

Methods: This observational registry assessed the clinical outcome in patients treated with vedolizumab for clinically active Crohn's disease (n = 67) or ulcerative colitis (n = 60).

Unlabelled: Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection causes significant mortality in patients with inherited bleeding disorders, however, data of interferon-free antiviral regimes are scarce in this population.

Patients, Methods: Real-life data of interferon-free therapies of 18 patients with inherited bleeding disorders and chronic HCV genotype 1 infection (94% male, liver cirrhosis Child A/B n = 4/1).

Results: Treatment naïve patients were treated for eight weeks with sofosbuvir (SOF)/ledipasvir (n = 3) or for 12 weeks with SOF/ledipasvir (n = 4), SOF/ledipasvir/ribavirin (n = 1), or paritaprevir/r, ombitasvir, dasabuvir (n = 1).

Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) is a disorder of articular cartilage and subchondral bone. In the elbow, an OCD is localized most commonly at the humeral capitellum. Teenagers engaged in sports that involve repetitive stress on the elbow are at risk.

Orthogonally functionalized binary micropatterned substrates are produced using a novel protocol. The use of adequate peptido-mimetics enables an unprecedented segregation of purified αvβ3 and α5β1 integrins in adjacent microislands and evidences the preference of U2OS cells to colocalize such receptors. Moreover, this tendency can be altered by varying the geometry and composition of the micropatterns.

Background: The radiographic appearance of osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the humeral capitellum varies according to the stage of the lesion. It is important to evaluate the stage of OCD lesion carefully to guide treatment. We compared the interobserver reliability of currently used classification systems for OCD of the humeral capitellum to identify the most reliable classification system.

Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease and a major cause of disability. Distinct biological processes are considered crucial for the development of osteoarthritis and are assumed to act in concert with additional risk factors to induce expression of the disease. In the classical weightbearing joints, one such risk factor is an unfavourable biomechanical environment about the joint.

Goals: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the new strategy of prophylactic transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) of the gastroduodenal artery after endoscopic hemostasis of bleeding duodenal ulcers.

Background: TAE is a well-established method for the treatment of recurrent or refractory ulcer bleeding resistant to endoscopic intervention, which increasingly replaces surgical procedures. A new approach for improving outcome and reducing rebleeding episodes is the supplemental and prophylactic TAE after successful endoscopic hemostasis.

The watery diarrhea, hypokalemia and achlorhydria (WHDA) syndrome due to vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP)-producing extra-pancreatic tumors is rare. We report on a 45-year-old woman who suffered from persistent secretory diarrhea for six years and who was admitted to hospital with complaints of muscular weakness and myalgia. Biochemical testing revealed pronounced rhabdomyolysis due to severe hypokalemia.

Hypothesis: Septic arthritis of the elbow is a serious orthopedic concern associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, traditionally treated with open exposure of the elbow joint. This study was performed to describe the outcome of arthroscopic treatment of septic elbow arthritis.

Methods: From May 2000 through January 2008, 12 patients with septic elbow arthritis were treated arthroscopically at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, a large medical center.

Background: Malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) have generally been found reliable and cost-effective. In Burkina Faso, the adherence of prescribers to the negative test result was found to be poor. Moreover, the test accuracy for malaria-attributable fever (MAF) is not the same as for malaria infection.

Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the humeral capitellum most commonly affects young athletes engaged in sports that repetitively stress the elbow. It is characterized by localized injury of subchondral bone of the humeral capitellum. To determine the best treatment option for OCD in young athletes, it is important to differentiate between stable and unstable OCD lesions.

Background: The impact of posttreatment neck dissection on prolonged feeding tube dependence in patients with head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) treated with primary radiation or chemoradiation remains unknown.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study using propensity score adjustment to investigate the effect of neck dissection on prolonged feeding tube dependence.

Results: A review of 67 patients with node-positive HNSCC (T1-4N1-3), treated with primary radiation or chemoradiation, with no evidence of tumor recurrence and follow-up of at least 24 months, was performed.

Objectives: Respiratory syncytial virus is the single-most important cause of lower respiratory tract infections in children. Preterm birth and congenital heart disease are known risk factors for severe respiratory syncytial virus infections. Although Down syndrome is associated with a high risk of respiratory tract infections, little is known about the incidence of respiratory syncytial virus infections in this group.
