Article Synopsis
  • - Sustainability involves using resources wisely to support both current and future needs, especially important in the automotive industry's supply chain due to rising environmental, social, and economic issues.
  • - The study identified 35 sustainability risks across 5 dimensions and proposed 40 strategies to address them, which were then evaluated and ranked by automotive supply chain experts using a unique fuzzy evaluation method.
  • - The findings suggest that the best course of action for companies is to implement legal compliance procedures, contributing new insights to sustainability literature and highlighting the use of fuzzy evaluation in risk assessment.

In this study, a new magnetic solid phase extraction method (MSPE) was developed for the enrichment and separation of trace amount Pb(II) on the magnetic nanoparticles synthesized using lemon peel (FeO-LP). The determination of Pb(II) in the samples was performed with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The FeO-LP was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffractometry, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area analysis, and vibration sample magnetometry.

Chromone (4H-chromen-4-one, 4H-1-benzopyran-4-one) and related compounds are important pharmacophores and privileged structures in medicinal chemistry because of their important biological activities such as anti-tumor, anti-HIV, and antioxidant. In the study, the density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed for radical scavenging activity evaluation of a series of 3-styrylchromone derivatives. The reaction enthalpies related to the steps in the radical scavenging action mechanisms and several physicochemical descriptors such as global hardness, softness, and electronegativity were computed in gas phase and in water.
