Background: This study aimed to compare objective refractive errors and keratometry measurements obtained using the Nidek OPD-Scan II aberrometer/topographer and Topcon KR 8900 autorefractokeratometer.
Methods: The right eye medical records of 176 patients aged 18-35 years who were admitted to our clinic as refractive surgery candidates were tested for refractive status and keratometry measurements with a Nidek OPD-Scan II aberrometer/topographer and a standard table-top autorefractokeratometer (Topcon KR 8900) before and after the induction of cycloplegia. Patients who had undergone any eye surgery and had hereditary, ectatic, or acquired corneal pathology were excluded.
Objectives: We sought to evaluate the possible correlation between serum vitamin D levels and exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study including 95 patients with exudative AMD and 95 healthy age- and sex-matched controls. The participants' serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)D3) levels were measured, and the results were classified into three categories: deficient (< 20.
Purpose: This study evaluated the macular ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (GC-IPL) thickness using spectral-domain (SD) optical coherence tomography (OCT) in patients with chronic exposure to hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).
Methods: A total of 90 patients (90 eyes) treated with HCQ for at least 5 years and normal controls were included in the study. A fundus examination, automated threshold perimetry, and GC-IPL thickness measurements using the Cirrus high-definition OCT ganglion cell analysis algorithm were performed in all patients treated with HCQ.
Purpose: To compare the central corneal thickness (CCT), intraocular pressure (IOP), and tear insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels between patients with acromegaly and a control group and to evaluate the possible effect of tear IGF-1 and duration of the disease on CCT and IOP.
Methods: We included 31 patients with acromegaly (study group) and 40 age- and sex-matched controls in the study. Patients with acromegaly were divided into 2 subgroups based on disease status (active/inactive).
Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) on the thicknesses of various retinal layers and on the numbers of retinal ganglion cells and vascular endothelial growth factor levels in experimental diabetic mouse retinas.
Methods: Twenty-one male BALB/C mice were made diabetic by the intraperitoneal administration of streptozotocin (200 mg/kg). One week after the induction of diabetes, the mice were divided randomly into three groups: control group (non-diabetic mice treated with alpha-lipoic acid, n = 7), diabetic group (diabetic mice without treatment, n = 7), and alpha-lipoic acid treatment group (diabetic mice with alpha-lipoic acid treatment, n = 7).
Purpose: To investigate the association of Behçet disease activity with serum and tear interleukin-2 levels.
Methods: The study was designed as a prospective case control study. The study population consisted of 45 patients with Behçet disease and 24 age and sex-matched healthy participants.
Objectives. This study compared the macular and retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) thicknesses and optic nerves of eyes with reduced vision due to anisometropia with the contralateral healthy eyes in adults using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods.

Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional case control study consisted of 50 patients with ischemic-type cerebro vascular disease and 50 control subjects. All subjects were investigated for diabetes mellitus and hypertension status and underwent a detailed ophthalmic examination.
Purpose. To evaluate the tear function tests in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and to compare the results with healthy subjects. Methods.

Twenty-eight male BALB/C mice were made diabetic by the intraperitoneal administration of streptozotocin (200 mg/kg). Three weeks after induction of diabetes, mice were divided randomly into 4 groups in which each group contained 7 mice; fisetin-treated group (group 1), α-lipoic acid-treated group (group 2), fisetin placebo group (group 3), α-lipoic acid placebo group (group 4).

Aim: To determine the prevalence of ophthalmopathy in Hashimoto's patients and to make a comparison in subgroups of patients.
Methods: The study involved 110 Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients and 50 control subjects attending to the endocrinology department of the hospital. Subgroup classification of patients was made as euthyroid, subclinic and clinic in Hashimato's thyroiditis.
Purpose: To evaluate the value of in-vivo confocal microscopy (CM) in the diagnosis of Fleck corneal dystrophy.
Methods: Case report and literature review. After complete eye examination of the patient, in-vivo CM was performed.
Pituitary tumors are the third most common primary intracranial neoplasm. Pathologic proliferation of the somatotrophs results as overproduction of growth hormone presenting as acromegaly. In pituitary adenomas typical visual field (VF) defect is bitemporal hemianopsia but tumor size and optic chiasmal position may cause variable VF defects and VF examination may remain normal.
