Pathologic conditions could arise from the testes and blunt or completely obliterate these functions leading to clinically overt or covert sequelae. The aim of this research is to study the pattern of histologically diagnosed testicular disease in relation to clinical features at the Jos University Teaching Hospital between January 2012 and December 31st, 2021.

Background And Objective: Intramedullary tuberculoma (IMT) of the conus medullaris is an extremely rare tumour that constitutes a diagnostic and management challenge in a resource-limited setting. We report a case of conus medullaris, IMT in a young immunocompetent, patient with no prior clinical features of pulmonary or extra-pulmonary tuberculosis.
Case Summary: The patient presented with six months history of progressive and persistent mid back pain and slight weakness of both lower limbs of 3 months duration.
Introduction: The vulva and vagina are of great significance to womanhood owing to the myriads of specialized functions they perform. The diseases of this organ have physical, social, mental, and psychological ramifications. The aim of this work is to study the pathological pattern and clinical presentation of diseases of the vulva and vagina at the Department of Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Medicine of the Jos University Teaching Hospital between 1st January 2011 and December 31st, 2020.

The phase change material n-tetradecane (C-14) was microencapsulated by using poly (methyl methacrylate -co- methacrylic acid) as a shell material through an oil by water-seeded emulsion polymerisation technique. The structural, morphological, and thermal properties of microcapsules were evaluated by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis.

Whether or not insulin, when co-administered with zinc will reverse or ameliorate reproductive dysfunction in male diabetics is not known. This study thus sought to establish if co-administration of insulin and zinc reverses or ameliorates male reproductive dysfunction in DM better than either insulin or zinc.

Unlabelled: The success of deep learning over the traditional machine learning techniques in handling artificial intelligence application tasks such as image processing, computer vision, object detection, speech recognition, medical imaging and so on, has made deep learning the buzz word that dominates Artificial Intelligence applications. From the last decade, the applications of deep learning in physiological signals such as electrocardiogram (ECG) have attracted a good number of research. However, previous surveys have not been able to provide a systematic comprehensive review including biometric ECG based systems of the applications of deep learning in ECG with respect to domain of applications.

This study investigated the atheroprotective and neuroprotective effects of peel extract of fruit (PEAC) in normal diet (ND) and high-fat diet (HFD) fed rats.
Methods: Male Wistar rats were fed ND or HFD for 9 weeks, and beginning from the 6 week animals were also orally treated with PEAC (200 mg/kg).
Introduction: Laboratory turnaround time is defined as the time between the receipt of a sample in the laboratory and when the report is ready for collection/dispatch. It is a critical component of the quality assurance of a laboratory and has been identified as a key performance indicator of laboratory performance. This study is aimed at evaluating the turnround time in the histopathology unit of our center and comparing the findings with that of similar studies.

The case presented here is reportedly caused by complex V deficiency as a result of mutation of Arginine to Cysteine at residue 329 in the mATPase. A recent breakthrough was the discovery of J147, which targets mATPase in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out among 380 (age 25-77 years; mean = 38.6; SD = 6.
The proven efficacy of J147 in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been emphatic, particularly since its selective modulatory roles towards mitochondrial ATP synthase (mATPase) were defined. This prospect, if methodically probed, could further pave way for the discovery of novel anti-AD drugs with improved pharmacokinetics and therapeutic potential. To this effect, for the first time, we employed a four-step paradigm that integrated our in-house per-residue energy decomposition (PRED) protocol coupled with molecular dynamics, cheminformatics and analytical binding free energy methods.

Case Presentation: We report a case of an ectopic pancreas located in a giant mediastinal cyst in a 2-year old girl who presented with severe dyspnoea due to external compression of the intra-thoracic structures, mainly the right main bronchus. Surgical resection was carried out with complete relief of symptoms.
The discovery of J147 represented a significant milestone in the treatment of age-related disorders, which was further augmented by the recent identification of mitochondrial ATP synthase as the therapeutic target. However, the underlying molecular events associated with the modulatory activity of J147 have remained unresolved till date. Herein, we present, for the first time, a dynamical approach to investigate the allosteric regulation of mATP synthase by J147, using a reliable human αγβ protein model.

The test has been validated for both plasma and dried blood spot specimen types with viral load (VL) of ≥1000 copies/ml. We performed an in-country assessment on the kit to determine the genotyping sensitivity and its accuracy in detecting HIVDR mutations using plasma samples stored under suboptimal conditions.
