A young adult with COVID-19 and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C)-like illness: a case report.

Background: A healthy 25-year-old woman developed COVID-19 disease with clinical characteristics resembling Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C), a rare form of COVID-19 described primarily in children under 21 years of age.

Case Presentation: The patient presented with 1 week of weakness, dyspnea, and low-grade fevers, followed by mild cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, and lymph node swelling. She was otherwise healthy, with no prior medical history.

Retrospective Review of a Novel Approach to Buprenorphine Induction in the Emergency Department.

Background: The Emergency Department (ED) frequently treats patients with drug overdoses and is an important resource for individuals with opioid use disorder who are seeking treatment. Initiating medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in the ED seems to be an effective way to link patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) to treatment programs. There is ongoing discussion on the best approach to MAT in the ED setting.

Knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding cervical cancer and screening among Haitian health care workers.

It is estimated that Haiti has the highest incidence of cervical cancer in the Western Hemisphere. There are currently no sustainable and affordable cervical cancer screening programs in Haiti. The current status of screening services and knowledge of health care professionals was assessed through a Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices survey on cervical cancer screening and prevention.
