The systematic review assessed the effectiveness of the Gufoni maneuver for treating a specific type of vertigo known as lateral canal BPPV with geotropic nystagmus.
Three studies were included after screening, with two showing low bias and high validity while the third had issues with treatment reporting.
Results indicated that the Gufoni maneuver was more effective than sham treatments and easier to perform, making it suitable for older or less mobile patients, but further research is needed to compare its efficacy against other treatment methods.
