Immunoprophylaxis is routinely recommended for infants born to mothers with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection within the first 12-24 hours. Detection of hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb) resulting from hepatitis B immunoglobulin administered at birth may be perceived as a real vaccine response. This makes it difficult to detect HBV infection.

This study aimed to assess the GI manifestations of PID patients and highlight the significance of atypical gastrointestinal symptoms in the early diagnosis of these patients.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on pediatric patients diagnosed with PIDs at Selcuk University Medical Faculty from 2011 to 2021.
Objectives: Ligneous conjunctivitis (LC) is a chronic conjunctivitis characterized by recurrent, firm, fibrin-rich, woody pseudomembranes on the palpebral conjunctiva. It is an ultrarare autosomal recessive disease associated with congenital plasminogen (PLG) deficiency due to mutations in the PLG gene (6q26). Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an idiopathic, systemic fibroinflammatory disease characterized by elevated serum IgG4 concentration and tissue infiltration of IgG4-positive plasma cells leading to organ enlargement, fibrosis and damage.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 44 pediatric patients with newly diagnosed CD and 44 healthy pediatric subjects. The vascular densities (VD) of the superficial, deep, and choriocapillar plexuses (VDs, VDd, and VDcc, respectively) (%), the superficial and deep foveal avascular zones (FAZs and FAZd) (%), the central macular thickness (CMT) (μm), and the subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT) (μm) were measured with swept-source OCT-A in addition to a complete ophthalmological examination.
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is used as an alternative to enteral/nasoenteral feeding in situations where long-term oral feeding is ineffective or not tolerated. It is mostly preferred in patients with neurological conditions and also to support nutrition in patients with congenital heart diseases, cystic fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and various oropharyngeal diseases. Although it is easily applicable compared to many invasive procedures, it has complications ranging from wound infection to death.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated MRE examinations of 153 patients with an assumed or definitive diagnosis of CD. There were 65 men and 88 women, with a mean age of 35.

Background: Cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCMP) is a functional disorder characterized by electrophysiological disturbances, and diastolic and/or systolic dysfunction in patients with liver disease. This disorder is a well-defined entity in adults, but pediatric data are limited. The aim of the study was to determine the incidence, features, and risk factors of CCMP in children with portal hypertension (PHT).

Methods: A total of 206 children [mean age 8.4 +/- 4.
Aim: To compare interferon monotherapy with combination treatment using interferon and lamivudine in children with chronic hepatitis B.
Methods: Data from 65 children who had received either interferon-alpha (5 MU/m2 subcutaneous thrice a week for 6 months; n=35; Group 1) or this dose of interferon-alpha for 6 months with oral lamivudine for one year (4 mg/Kg/day, maximum 100 mg/day; n=30; Group 2) were analyzed retrospectively. Complete response was defined as ALT normalization, HBeAg/anti-HBe seroconversion and HBV DNA clearance.
Unlabelled: A 6-y-old boy and an 8-y-old girl were admitted to our clinic with anaemia and failure to thrive. Laboratory tests revealed iron deficiency anaemia and positive antigliadin antibodies in both of the patients. Slightly raised grey-white plaques were observed on oesophageal mucosa during endoscopical investigation of the patients.

We report on a 7-year-old girl with osteogenesis imperfecta presenting with hepatomegaly and palpable lymphadenopathy in the left inguinal region on physical examination. Computed tomography examination revealed a high-density mass-like lesion of the manubrium sterni.
