Background: Diagnosing anaphylaxis in children within the first 2 years of life can be difficult due to the often confusing and nonspecific signs and symptoms.

Objective: This study focuses on the phenotype of anaphylaxis in children within the first 2 years of life and aims to increase awareness of anaphylaxis in this age group.

Methods: The study included children between 0 and 2 years who were diagnosed as having anaphylaxis by pediatric allergists in 11 tertiary hospitals.

Background: Early home intervention for asthma exacerbation (AE) in children is associated with more favorable outcomes. Inhaled short-acting beta agonists (SABA) are the cornerstones of AE treatment.

Objectives: We aimed to determine what proportion of parents administered salbutamol to their children to treat asthma exacerbation at home, and the factors affecting the decision to administer the medication.

Background/aim: Data on the prevalence of allergic diseases in children with proven drug allergies are limited. We aim to evaluate the frequency of allergic comorbidity in children with proven common drug allergies.

Materials And Methods: Children with drug hypersensitivity confirmed by diagnostic allergy tests at our center between January 2010 and December 2020 were screened retrospectively.

Objective: Unscheduled return visits to the emergency department (unscheduled RTED) increase both the workload and overcrowding in the emergency department. The aim in the present study is to identify the patient groups that require more careful and closer follow-up to reduce the rates of unscheduled RTED and hospital admissions after a return visit.

Methods: Among the patients admitted to the emergency department of our hospital between 2016 and 2017, those who made an unscheduled RTED within 72 hours after their first visit to the emergency department were evaluated retrospectively.

Background/objectives: Adverse reactions to local anesthetics are relatively common, but proven IgE-mediated allergy is extremely rare. We aimed to determine the frequency of local anesthetic allergy in pediatric patients.

Patients And Methods: The medical records of 73 patients who presented to our clinic with a history of suspected allergic reaction to local anesthetics and underwent diagnostic testing between 2012 and 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.

Background: Beta-lactam antibiotics (BLA) are the most commonly prescribed antibiotics and are responsible for the majority of immediate hypersensitivity reactions to drugs in children. Cross-reactivity is important in hypersensitivity to BLAs because these drugs all share a common beta-lactam structure and some share similar side chains.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics of patients who are diagnosed with immediate-type BLA hypersensitivity and frequency of patients with side chain hypersensitivity, "selective responders.

Background: Thalassemia major (TM) is a chronic disease requiring regular transfusions that may result in generalized iron loading, such as in the heart, the liver, endocrine organs, and the lungs. We aimed to determine pulmonary function abnormalities in children with TM in our center.

Patients And Methods: In this study, pulmonary function tests (PFTs) of 49 patients with TM who received regular blood transfusion and had no history of chronic respiratory disease were evaluated.
