An example of chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity in cancer survivors is acquired long QT syndrome (aLQTS), which may cause serious yet preventable life-threatening consequences. Our objective was to identify and characterize childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) survivors with possible aLQTS using maximal exercise testing. In this cross-sectional study with exploratory analysis, a total of 250 childhood ALL survivors were evaluated for abnormal QT interval prolongation using the McMaster cycle exercise test.

Methods: We included all original studies reporting the incidence and/or prevalence of cardiac electrical abnormalities and/or risk factors associated with cardiac electrical abnormalities in childhood ALL survivors (< 21 years old at the time of their initial cancer diagnosis) who were post-treatment. The self-adhesive prion-like domain in FUS generates reversible condensates via the liquid-liquid phase separation process (LLPS) whose maturation can lead to the formation of insoluble fibrillar aggregates in vitro, consistent with the appearance of cytoplasmic inclusions in ageing neurons. Using a single-molecule imaging approach, we reveal that FUS can assemble into nanofibrils at concentrations in the nanomolar range.

The exploration of SAR required the preparation of uncommon boron derivatives. Forty final drugs were tested for their ability to bind the target and nine of them exhibited Ki values below nanomolar concentrations.

The SAR study revealed that several crucial factors are involved in the affinity of these compounds for α7 nAchR such as a (R) quinuclidine configuration and a mono C-3 quinuclidine substitution. The triazole ring was substituted by a phenyl ring bearing small OMe/CH2F groups or fluorine atom and by several heterocycles such as thiophenes, furanes, benzothiophenes or benzofuranes.

Large-scale molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of liquid drops spreading on a solid substrate have been carried out for a very wide range of solid-liquid interactions and equilibrium contact angles. The results for these systems are shown to be consistent with the molecular-kinetic theory (MKT) of dynamic wetting, which emphasizes the role of contact-line friction as the principal channel of energy dissipation. Several predictions have been confirmed.
